Sketchy door-to-door books by "donation"
My street is currently swarming with young adults in lanyards going door-to-door reciting scripted sales pitches about some youth positivity something-or-other. If you don't close the door they start piling "free" self help-style books in your hands while asking personal questions, then they'll start talking about how they accept credit card donations. I asked him politely to stop, gave him the books back and closed the door before he had a chance to shove a business card at me.
Has anybody encountered these people? It was super creepy. The kid seemed nice enough but I really don't appreciate a hard sell at the door. Especially these days.
edit to say I was curious if anybody is aware of any scams like this, and if it's worth notifying anybody about it. It just seemed super weird.
