Vintage Italian articulated serpent arm cuff with flexible scale construction, sculpted snake head and forked tongue.

Clearly hallmarked:

750 / ★252 VI

The ★252 VI Italian maker-registration mark is attributed in jewelry and auction references to Tosato Bruno / Tosato s.n.c. of Vicenza, Italy. Other Tosato 252 VI serpent jewelry is documented in the auction market.

The articulated body remains flexible and moves freely. Video is in the album so you can see the movement and construction yourself.

Condition

This is vintage/pre-owned jewelry. There are surface scratches and normal signs of wear, all shown as clearly as I could in the photos/video.

The snake originally had two eye stones, which are no longer present. The settings have been left untouched rather than installing replacements.

Purity was additionally verified with a touchstone/scratch acid test. Acid was applied only to the test stone and never directly to the bracelet.

At current Kitco, melt is roughly $3,340, so I’m asking only about $500 over the gold for the vintage Tosato Italian serpent cuff.

Anyone have experience with these early NGC slabs? From what I’ve been able to find, these appear to be from one of NGC’s earliest generations. I bought them from an older gentleman who still had the original purchase receipts from 1988.
No hologram, no barcode, and the NGC logo is embossed on the outside of the holder. Curious if anyone here collects these old holders and can help confirm the generation and whether the holder itself carries much of a premium.
