Would you consider investing in a matchmaking company? Curious to hear an investor's perspective.

I've been a professional matchmaker for 10 years. I spent six of those years working for one of the largest matchmaking companies in the US before eventually branching out and starting my own boutique matchmaking agency.

Lately, I've been exploring the idea of bringing on an investor, ideally someone who could offer both financial backing and strategic guidance as I grow the business.

We currently offer personalized matchmaking services and are expanding into curated singles events, virtual dating experiences, and relationship focused content. My long-term vision is to build a larger team of matchmakers and create more opportunities for singles to connect beyond traditional dating apps.

I'm passionate about this industry, but I also recognize that being great at what you do and knowing how to scale a business are two very different skill sets.

I'm curious how investors view businesses like mine. Is a matchmaking agency something you would even consider investing in? What would you need to see in terms of revenue, profitability, growth potential, or business structure before taking it seriously?

I'm not looking to pitch anyone here. I'm simply doing some research to understand whether seeking outside investment makes sense for a business like mine, or whether I'd be better off continuing to grow organically. I'd genuinely appreciate perspectives from anyone with experience investing in or scaling service based businesses.

I’ve been a professional matchmaker for 10 years. AMA

I’ve spent the last 10 years as a professional matchmaker and now run my own matchmaking company. I’ve interviewed thousands of singles, heard both sides of countless dates, and learned a lot about people, attraction, relationships, rejection, and the business of love along the way. But this is an open AMA, so truly, ask me anything: matchmaking, dating, relationships, running a matchmaking business, strange client requests, what happens behind the scenes, career, life, or whatever else you’re curious about.

South Florida singles: what kind of dating events would you actually show up for?

Hi everyone! I’m a professional matchmaker who recently relocated to South Florida, and my office is now based on Palm Beach.

I’m planning to start hosting dating events throughout West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, but before I start making plans, I’d rather hear from the people who would actually attend them. 😏

What kind of singles events would you genuinely be excited about?

Something casual like happy hour?
Speed dating, but less painfully awkward?
Dinner parties?
Activity-based events?
Events separated by age range or relationship intention?

I work primarily with people looking for serious relationships, so I’d love to create events that feel a little more intentional than the usual “100 singles in a loud bar” situation.

South Florida singles, what are we missing?
