My first step - thanks to you

Hi,

I have been very scared to go to the doctors with my GI problems because I am so afraid of colonoscopy (because of the sedation, but I do not want to do it without sedation) and its results. My symptoms are there for a while now (loose stools, sometimes bloating), so I started prepping myself to put an end to this. I came to reddit and started reading this sub and honestly just reading your stories gave me strenghts. I did my first step. Finally I went and told my symptoms to my primary care doctor. I am on step nr. 1 so they ordered me some tests before moving on, but I am confident I want to do the colonoscopy and want to put my mind at ease OR finally getting a treatment.
My aim is to go through it and then being able to post here and give others strenghts.

Jellyfish situation in Rovinj

Hi!

Out of the nowhere we got an opportunity to visit Rovinj at the end of July. I was already there some years ago and I loved it and I am super happy we could go again. Back then I was there in early July and I do remember that in the beaches there were a very high amount of small jelly fish. People did not seem to be bothered by them.

I assume it will be even worse at the end of July. Can they cause problems or can we go into the water without fear?

Thanks!

Should I do more? Am I overthinking this?

Hi,

Posting this from a friends' account (thanks my friend :) ) who recently showed me this sub and I started reading it. My situation is a bit different, I am not a step parent and I highly doubt I will ever be one, but my SO has a child and is in a complicated situation.

His child is a toddler. He is an EOWE dad. Now, please do not comment badly on this, this is the most he could get at this stage. Background: He and the BM never had a relationship, child is from a hook up so they do not even know each other. BM told SO about the pregnancy but also stated wants nothing from SO. Well he did want to particpate in his child's life. BM moved cities away while pregnant and tried to ghost SO. Their court case was a long one, starting with proving he is the father, since BM did not put him on the birth certificate. Even the judge said joint custody is not possible, because BM is not willing to communicate with SO at all, they live far apart etc. SO got EOWE + half of the holidays and he is very happy about it, because in the beginning he could not even see the child.

SO and I have a good relationship, I was introduced after 15 months of dating to the child. It was only a few months ago. Tbh I do not even know why I am writing this post.. maybe because I fear that in this case since SO is also has limited time with child, I do not know whether my contribution is enough or can we live long term like this? I am in a career change which means that I have one more year of school and the school is on the weekends when SO has child, so basically for 1 more year the I can see the child is once a month for a few hours. After that I plan to work in my new career Saturdays as well and I will choose the weekends when SO has the child. So my involvement will not likely change. I guess now in the beginning since the kid is little, it is not a problem and it is my partner's time with the child, but since this is such a unique situation somehow I feel me and the kid will never have a relationship and I do not know whether it can cause problems in my relationship on the long term (as opposed to the problems I read here which come from a lot of time together with children).

I know that custody can also change in the future but for now we both do not see it coming. I just feel strange that people in relationships blend more with their partner's children. Can we live a sustainable life together meanwhile most probably I will not have a lot to do with the kid? I know my partner would like me to participate when I can, it is absolutely on me when I go and join them, he is never forcing me, but as mentioned above, my commitments are different on those weekends. Am I overthinking this?

I just need to vent

So it happened for the first time......

I am CF but my SO has a child. I have dogs. My SO is very forgetful but usually never forgets big things, only small.

So I am on a trip away from home, in another country and I left my dogs with a sitter because I did not want my boyfriend to deal with his son and dogs at the same time. But he was supposed to get my dogs after he did the drop off his child.

HCBM apparently was awfully rude to my SO at drop off which impacted him.

And

...

He forgot to pick my dogs up from their sitter. I got the call from the sitter that my SO did not go for them. Btw my SO lives with me and the dogs so its not something you just do not notice at home.

When I rightfully was very angry with him and told him that it horrible I cannot trust him with the most important beings in my life and I said for me they are my children. He said I cannot say that cause I am not a parent and never will be and i cannot understand that bond and thats why him forgetting the dogs its not a big deal.

Btw I never doubted the bond between a parent and a child but this was really mean from him... Especially after what I have to deal with child and HCBM issues. My dogs give literally no stress to him but his ex and son give me a lot....

Hi All,

Yesterday I had a hysteroscopy where they removed 8 polyps and did an endometrial biopsy.
Doctor told me I can bleed lightly from some days to up to two weeks.

Well, I know it has not been even 24 hrs but I would not call the bleeding light. It is not heavy either, it is rather moderate.

I do not have any pain or discomfort so I guess this is okay, especially because my reason of this procedure is heavy and up to 12+ days periods.

Those who have been in my shoes could share the experiences? Is there anyone who was bleeding more than lightly?
