Tips on paring down collection

Recently moved, have enough makeup to own a mini Sephora. Oddly enough, I now have more space to store my makeup, but feel extremely overwhelmed by the amount of makeup I own. As I haven’t totally unpacked yet, I’ve been living out of a suitcase using only one toiletry bag’s worth of makeup. I’ve never been a minimalist, but it was such a nice feeling having a minimalistic collection for a month. Until I looked over at the duffle bag full of makeup and the anxiety started all I’ve again.

I need advice on how to declutter. All of my makeup is used. I don’t feel comfortable selling used makeup, none of my friends wear much makeup, so I will have to toss in the bin (which is painful). I can rationalize keeping all of my products, so I don’t know how to even begin decluttering this much makeup.

How do you know how much to keep? Do you keep a certain number of foundations and concealers for instance?

How do you decide what to toss? I’m pretty good about keeping up with expiration dates on cream products, so that’s not a helpful metric to use. Thanks!

August Empties! Back at it

Dionis goat milk hand cream: love. The only hand cream that doesn’t leave a residue or feel greasy. I have more minis to finish.

Dieux auracle reviving eye gel: dislike. Didn’t notice a difference, did like the gel texture, did not work well under concealer.

K18 leave in hair mask: dislike. Didn’t notice a difference. Bought the kerastase overnight hair serum instead.

Chantecaille future skin in ivory: love. This is my natural shade when I don’t self tan. Will repurchase in the future, but have a ton of foundations to get through first (hence why I’m rejoining this sub).

Best makeup cleansing balm?

Is there a better makeup removing balm than Glow Recipe, or should I stick with this one?

I love it, but I do go through it very quickly. Curious to hear what your favorite makeup cleaning balm is. I am not interested in cleansing oils, just balm formulas. Thx!

Skincare Haul

Products:

Rhode glazing mist

Dieux instant angel

Laneige lip sleeping mask in vanilla

Dieux instant angel is a forever repurchase. It rivals high end moisturizers I’ve tried.

Ran out of lawless forget the filler lip mask and decided it was drying out my lips, so went back to laneige lip sleeping mask. This is my first time trying vanilla! I prefer non-tinted for night time, so this is perfect. I regret ever straying from this. It’s the perfect texture and really does hydrate.

Lastly, I decided to treat myself to Rhode glazing mist. The tik tok trends got to me. So far I love it. The mist is super fine, and makes my skin look glowy and feel hydrated. I spray as my first and last step in my skincare routine.
