project pan is actually helping me improve my shower hygiene (and mental health)

i’ve noticed that since starting my project pan (and low buy) i’ve become a lot better with my shower hygiene. i actually feel a bit excited to get into the shower everyday and use my products up, in the hopes that i’ll achieve an empty product (and just generally feeling clean and pampered).

the serotonin boost from collecting my empties has now replaced my short lived shopping glee (and subsequent shoppers remorse). i feel like my shower and skincare routines that i’ve developed and sticking with are also helping me improve my mood and feelings towards myself, like creating daily self-care habits. it’s only been a couple of months, but i’m excited to continue my project pan journey!

❤️: cerave sa cleanser, salus body oil, qv cream, nivea soft cream, oaui hair mask

👎: schols heel balm gold, ahava eye serum (smelt so bad), avene sunscreen (white cast and makes my eyes sting)

🚮: maybelline liquid lipstick (old and bad shade on me), covergirl lip gloss (hate the minty menthol plumping sensation)

Consistency is key

I try to think about this every time I get impressed by ads or novelty .. need to stop buying into marketing strategies and start trusting more my instincts in what already works

It’s gone!

3 days after my last post I used the very last of it. This Gucci bronzer in fair was the best bronzer I’ve ever used. I have one more bronzer in my collection to show some love, but one day I will repurchase this. I’ve used it 95 times since January, but have had it for 3-4 years. Used consistently as my main bronzer for the last 1.5 years.

Recent Empties and Mini Reviews

First timer here! I have always been collecting empties because I love the feeling I get when I see empty bottles - of investment realization and the fact that each empty is a testament of time, effort (not quite literally) and my love for body/skin and hair care stuff in general. Excited to share my empties and my thoughts!

Body wash:

Method (simply nourish) - I usually love the smell of coconut, but I didn’t love the smell as much. Overall a decent product, lasted me for the entire winter.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Repurchase: No

Method (island mist) - Loved the tropical scent. Lathers well and is not stripping for my dry skin.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Repurchase: Yes

Skin care:

Trader Joes night cream - didn’t like it, not moisturizing enough for my dry skin, had a tacky and oily texture (some may call it dewy ✨, but I am not a fan of anything shiny on my face)
Rating: ⭐️
Repurchase: No

YTTP Air-Whip Moisture Cream - amazing texture, got it from Sephora (bday gift), was mainly in my travel bag, didn’t use consistently to know my exact thoughts, but remember not hating it.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a half
Repurchase: Maybe

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Face Lotion - didn’t like it as much as I hoped I would, not moisturizing enough for my dry skin, ended up using as a hand cream to finish it.
Rating: ⭐️ and a half
Repurchase: No

Snail 92 All in One Cream - wanted to keep them in my bags to use on the go, hated it, goopy and tacky and stringy texture.
Rating: ⭐️
Repurchase: No

Hyphen Barrier Repair Cream - Indian celebrity brand, super affordable, light yet moisturizing and somehow was always cold to use.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Repurchase: Yes
Special shout out to the brand for not being a cash grab!

Hair Care:

Honeyque Shampoo - love, love, love! Super nourishing, didn’t strip my dry hair.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Repurchase: 💯

Dove Bond Strength Shampoo - good, my hair loves the brand Dove.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Repurchase: Maybe

Vegamour Gro Revitalizing Shampoo - bad, made my hair super dry and very knotty. Got it as a free sample
Rating:⭐️
Repurchase: No

We are moving and I’m not taking garbage with me so here are my Jan-April pans. $1400 later

I started my project pan journey late last year as a way to hold myself accountable for my overconsumption habits. Somewhere between the cluttered countertops and constantly chasing the next viral product, I realized I was spending a lot of money on things I only used a handful of times and didn’t truly love.
This process has really forced me to slow down and evaluate what actually works for me, what deserves a permanent spot in my routine, and what is genuinely worth my money. Turns out curating with intention feels a lot better than endlessly collecting.

Question, how long do you keep your lipsticks?

I have three lipsticks, more than two years and I don't know, if I should toss them or keep them until they will finish. How long do you keep yours?

March - May empties ˚˖𓍢ִ໋❀

here’s my mini reviews :)

  • PINK warm & cozy travel spray : gives me nostalgia, would re purchase! 8/10

  • grace & stella rose spray : not bad! really small, I got it in a set of their other products. 6/10

  • therabreath fresh breath oral rinse : really enjoyed this, probably going to repurchase in the big bottle. 9/10

  • clearasil hydra blast pads : stand by these, they keep my acne at bay, have already repurchased twice now. 10/10

  • dove gentle scrub : averagely good body wash/scrub, doesn’t bother my sensitive skin at all. 8/10

  • L’Oréal glycolic gloss shampoo : LOVE, really made my hair feel softer, I do want to purchase different products from this line to see if they are all as good. 10/10

  • Elizavecca protein treatment: obsessed, sad I ran out so fast, I did get it for 6.99 at Winners but would definitely repurchase even at regular price, it really is worth every cent. 11/10

January-April empties

Hair, body, skincare empties separated by category. The skin1004 serum was to die for with my perimenopause dryness. I’ll definitely be getting that whole dove hair line again as well. The la Roche lip and neutrogena lip are HG for me now too.

Edit to add more details. I was in a rush earlier headed to work.

Most of those are my regulars that I stick with. Others were gratis I received at work. The redkin was gratis, it was meh. Gave a nice shine but didn’t outlast the dove mask. The centella ampoule was a new try. I loved it. My skin has switched from oily to dry and flaky the last 6 months with hormonal changes. I added that product to my routine and saw results quickly. Seemingly longer lasting than the other products I’ve tried for the dryness. The hydro boost is another HG. I use the moisturizer for work shifts. It pairs better under my makeup than the tatcha I use. The mouth wash is by far my favorite. I got the full size recently. Tree hut speaks for itself I think. The frenshe lotion felt nice but didn’t moisturize a lick. The bath and body works lotion smelled really good to me but often times people told me I smelled like potpourri
