My whole life, my emotions, my mood and my happiness feel like they revolve around my boyfriend. Whenever he gets busy with his friends, family, work or other social things and we can’t talk like we normally do, I get this weird feeling.

He hasn’t done anything wrong and I don’t fight with him about it. He’s actually a darling. I just feel like I’ve become way too emotionally dependent on him and I don’t like it.

I’m preparing for a government exam and have been isolated for a long time. I don’t have many friends I talk to regularly and everyone around me is busy with their own life. Then I start comparing myself with others. Some are working, some are getting married and I feel like I’m just stuck at home.

I don’t want my happiness to depend on one person. I want my own life and identity again. I genuinely don’t know how to break this pattern and become emotionally independent. What actually helped you when you were in a similar situation?
