Has anyone DIYed a soundproof vocal booth?

Apartment living :( gotta walk 5 minutes to my car every time I get the urge to practice or even just test out some random technique.

Anyone attempted to DIY something soundproofed, either in a closet or standalone? Doesn't necessarily need to be soundPROOF, but I have no idea what the cost would be for something like that. Anything that'd keep the noise down enough to stop my neighbors from pounding on the walls! Would love to see pictures if you do have one.

10+ Years, barely any progress

I've been playing guitar entirely self taught since I was 9 or 10 years old, practice has been pretty inconsistent throughout though, I've completely put it down for 6-9 months at a time before, but usually I pick it up once a day for a couple minutes.

Since I was probably 14, I don't think I've actually progressed my knowledge of the instrument in any way. I occasionally will play along with tabs, but 98% of the time I'm making up riffs, messing with chord shapes, or practicing simple-ish stuff that I haven't quite mastered (i.e. pinch harmonics). I started by learning the same songs everyone else does, then progressed into bedroom pop/fingerstyle stuff, and the past year I've made a full 180 into screamo, hardcore, death metal, any heavier genres.

I want to progress any skills I'd need to improve my songwriting, or would make coordinating with other instruments easier. I have little to no interest in shredding or playing extremely complex flamenco-style stuff, but I'd have to count fret by fret to find you a note on the fretboard, I don't know any scales, I don't know what a minor third means, etc.

When I've attempted starting from scratch and relearning the absolute basics, it feels incredibly demeaning and is just too boring to keep up with. I'm relatively proficient at PLAYING the guitar, but my actual knowledge of the guitar as an instrument is completely undeveloped. Where should I start, and what should I focus in on, specifically to improve my songwriting? Are there any "shortcuts" or more targeted lessons I could take to hone in my knowledge of heavier genres specifically, instead of just general music theory applied to guitar?

TLDR: developed strong playing ability with no instrument knowledge, where should I start to improve my songwriting?

Finding a vocal coach

Hey guys, just curious if anyone has advice or recommendations for finding a vocal coach specifically for harsh vocals. I feel like having someone sit in front of me and say "nope, that's wrong" while I practice would boost my progress 10x

Online vs in-person? What's the average pricing? Also, I can only get like 15-20 minutes of good screaming out of myself before my voice gets tired, do vocal coaches usually take this into account for lesson times?

Thank you!

Need help with false chord lows

been practicing off and on for a year-ish, but before now ALL i could do was highs. i think i'm doing some weird guttural hybrid in the video, but i honestly have no clue where the placement is for lows. do you keep the nasal-y, higher up distortion for lows or is the technique totally different? most videos i see covering false chords mostly show highs, and most videos talking about pitch focus on fry. any tips appreciated

What techniques does Sin Against Sin use?

basically title, i know they have two vocalists but the disparity between the higher, kinda desperate sounding screams and the lows is so fucking good. I can't tell if the higher screams have any technique applied at all or if he's just screaming as hard as possible to make it breathy

Disemboweling, for specific timestamps the screams at 0:33 (TRUUUTH!) and 1:40 (control was lost years ago)

Need to get my spice tolerance back up!

Two years ago I moved across the country and (regrettably) threw away most of my collection in the process. Since then I've just been using grocery store stuff like El Yucateco. It tastes good, but recently I took a bite of a habanero and I was losing my mind, crying+snot the whole bit. I've willingly eaten a wing doused in The End : Flatline for fun before, so that hurt my spice ego a lot lol

I want to get back into it, but I cannot remember ANY of the sauces I loved so dearly before the move. I was dousing stuff in torchbearer's garlic reaper without much reaction, and I'd like to get back to that point.

Looking for recommendations for sauces around or above 100k scoville-ish! I really enjoy fruiter, bright sauces over smokey or super pepper-forward stuff. Pineapple, mango, or carrot based sauces are consistently a hit for me, but I love trying anything unusual flavor-wise.
