What's your favorite ingredients for hot sauce?

For me, it's fermented pineapple, scotch bonnets, habanero, and pineapple vinegar.

Which of the 3 is hottest?

I've had Atomic from Wingstop.

However, I've never had Wild or Blazin' from BDubs.

Which of these 3 is the hottest, in your view?

Mythos Q'uq'umatz - OBITUARY REVIEW

Here lies Mythos Q’UQ’UMATZ-

8.4/10

As the God of wind and rain for the K’iche’ Maya, this deity is the equivalent for the Aztec Quetzalcoatl, and the Yucatan Maya Kukulkan (which was the name of another Mythos sauce). The name translates to a rendered “feathered serpent”, which is pretty friggin sweet imagery if you ask me. Mythos was my favorite sauce company before they unfortunately closed the business late last year. I’ve been slowly cherishing the sauces I have, and I did stock up on a few of my favorites when I could. While I am extremely grateful for having been able to experience this company, I am sad that they no longer exist. Let’s get into the review!

REVIEW: This sauce was made to be a lesser heated version of their Kukulkan, which was another fan favorite from the company, and actually won a few awards. I have a review on my page. Anyway, like all of the other sauces by Mythos, this sauce has quite a bit of vinegar right up front. It’s tangy and sweet, with the ACV playing delightfully with the pineapples. The hatch peppers create this interesting layer of sweetness also, without offering much heat at all. The hatch combined with the cumin gave me with some nostalgia, because I used to go to this taco truck every Saturday morning, and I got these awesome lengua tacos (and other varieties of course), and they had a few salsa options, one of them being a hatch and tomatillo style. Anyway, this was a really tangy and punchy sauce, which makes me want to use it as a salad dressing, but alas, I can no longer get my hands on it. All I have left is the memories… I wish I had more to say about this sauce, but it’s deliciousness rests within it’s simplicity. I know this review was more of a love letter than a review, and I’m alright with that. Thanks for everything, Mythos. I have a few more reviews coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned for those! Rest in Peace, Spicy Prince.

Feel free to recommend your favorite hatch chili sauce, leave your favorite local hot sauce brand, or tell us your experience with this sauce or any other Mythos sauce.

Ingredients: White Vinegar, Hatch Chiles, Pineapple, Cider Vinegar, Lime Juice, Salt, Garlic, Cumin

I didn’t expect to love this one

I was so shocked that I have almost finished this one from Trader Joe’s! I think it’s a kind of Peri Peri?? And I don’t love the Nandos so I was prepared to not like this much but I ended up loving it! I mainly use it on chicken/pork/some beef but it’s pretty versatile! 4/10 on the spice scale for me but for most it might be higher idk

No Bueno

Not a hot sauce per se. Tastes like a cholula flavored salt bomb.

Black Garlic sauce recommendations

My favorite is Bravado. I love the Reaper Black garlic but some days it can be a bit much. Anyone got suggestions for a bottle I can toss in the work truck to replace the Bravado obligatory reference photo, oh and Jason Ellis’ is tasty stuff

You all are wild!wl

Thats a piece of bbq chicken no bone…Tried to do three/four drops and the chunk in the cap must have came free…this was about 25 minutes ago and my eyes are still wet(tears)…mouth has mostly recovered (with help from some dairy) but my lord. Ive had this for many months and its just bellow the neck of the bottle still! It really is a serious sauce it tastes great really then you enter the scorpion pit! I appreciate you guys influencing this purchase but you are all insane 😂. I give you all your flowers for using this sauce often. I use habanero daily but this is just for over dosing on capsaicin for me. Stay fired up everyone!

That Time Of The Year Again

Hey Yall!

Our annual Hot Ones challenge is coming up and these are the list of sauces I’ve put together.

We consider ourselves chili heads and heat isn’t an issue as long but extracts are off the table.

The first 5 have been ordered and I’m lookin for help on the bottom half of the sheet.

If you’ve had any you recommend, I would love to hear your feedback!

Contest is at the end of June and it’s my favorite weekend of the year.

First year we did a full torchbearer spread based on recommendations from here.

Last year we did alot from angry goat and they were phenomenal. I’m trying to diversify this year and get a couple from different brands above.

Thanks in advance!

Hot Sauce Transportation Solutions?

Like many of you I assume, I've accumulated a fairly sizeable hot sauce collection. I prefer keeping all my sauces refrigerated for freshness, which means they end up in the basement/garage fridge. We like to do a "sauce your own" wing night, so we end up moving a bunch of sauces around to wherever we are eating which is kind of a pain. Does anyone have any creative solutions for storing or transporting ~12+ hot sauces that might fit in a fridge easily?

I had to try it, here’s the review:

The picture makes it look red but it’s actually a clear liquor, just the packaging makes it illuminate red. I tried it straight first and it definitely blends the flavor of Tabasco in well: not too overpowering but it definitely is true Tabasco. In a way, it kind of ruined my taste for original Tabasco after the experience. I then pulled out the Clamato and made a really lazy Bloody Mary. I can see it coming in clutch if you’re hosting and someone wants a Bloody Mary randomly, but it’s not for me and it possibly will change your view about the sauce if you like OG Tabasco. No regrets trying it but it’s probably going to sit in the fridge for a long time
