I work in healthcare and am scientifically curious. Whenever I eat hot (usually very hot) sauce at work, others are always saying it’s gonna hurt when it comes out. Well it never does. Once it’s down the hatch it doesn’t affect me at all digestively. How many out there actually get gastrointestinal symptoms from hot sauce?
My son brought this home for me from his trip to Peru. It is a beautiful bright orange colour and has an amazing habanero flavour but surprisingly little heat.
I wonder if sauces in Peru are commonly mild.
Just finished Joyland and it was a real pleasure! I would say definitely my favourite of the 3 Hard Case King stories. I don’t hear about these so much but for a shorter book with no real tie ins to the greater King universe this one deserves more attention.
About 20 years ago I worked nights at a rural hospital. A friend suggested that during some down time we take pictures around the hospital for fun to see if anything paranormal showed up. This was just a standard digital camera, no flash. Down a hall of unused rooms, we just opened the doors, shot into the dark rooms and moved on. A while later he looked at the pictures and one had something that we couldn’t explain. Went back and looked in that room and there was nothing in that spot. I can kind of make out a face maybe? It could be nothing but plenty of people had died there over the years. First picture is unedited. Second is just brightened up. Our reflections are in the window at the back.
Perfect amount of heat with a kick of Indian spice
I went to a hypnotherapist a couple years ago. She had never heard of misophonia so I asked her to research it and then let me know if she thought hypnosis could help. She thought it might be helpful, made no guarantees. I went for quite a few sessions and it had no impact on the misophonia. She was a fairly inexperienced hypnotherapist and was not great at her techniques so I wonder if anyone else has tried this and had any success. It seems like it could at least lessen the problem but it did nothing for me.
The loss of Andrew Wood is still beyond sad and we would have been blessed with some spectacular music if he had stay with us. But I can’t imagine a world without this absolute gem of an album. Thank you Chris and everyone involved for Temple of the Dog!
