Wiki not enabled?

For the life of me, the other mods of r/respiratorytherapy and I cannot get our wiki to publish.

Under "Wiki Settings", "public visability" is checked. "Who can edit" is "Only Mods and Approved Contributors".

The wiki appears to us (the mods), but when a non-mod views it, there's an error

What's the score/age/size megathread

This is the ONLY post allowed where you can ask for an estimate on your animal's score, age, size, etc.

Keep in mind that it's practically impossible to judge many characteristics of an animal based off of pictures. For one, your cameras aren't usually the greatest (especially grainy trail cam pics), for another, it's hard to judge scale. Finally, not every animal can be aged by picture.

Rules:

  1. Top-level comments are for asking about your animal.
  2. One top-level comment per animal.
  3. Images should clearly show the animal. Albums should be linked, do not post multiple images in multiple comments.
  4. Include pertinent details: location (state, province, country), species, known reference for scale, distance from camera, etc.
  5. Be polite. Snarky comments ("not getting any younger") are subject to deletion.

Greetings from your new mod!

Hello r/Hunting!

A little about me: I'm a healthcare worker, a homesteader, a hunter, and more. I've been moderating one healthcare subreddit for about 5 years, and another one for one year.

My approach to moderation is to generally be permissive as long you're polite. First offenses get warnings, subsequent offenses will result in warnings, a temporary ban, or a permanent ban. Egregious offenses will result in a permanent ban. I want everyone to feel welcome here, and just like how a bad hunter can ruin the experience for others, a bad redditor can too.

One pet peeve of mine is seeing the same question over and over again. "What rifle should I get for deer at 150 yards?" does not need to be asked 4 times a week when the answer can easily be found by searching the sub.

Over the next few weeks, I plan on reviewing and updating the wiki, automod, and rules. You may have noticed I've implemented post flair, which will make posts easier to find.

But I want to hear from you. I'm not here to impose my own definition of hunting to the exclusion of others, but certain recent posts have been polarizing, and we need to be clear about what's allowed and what's not. Consider this an informal poll, a springboard with which we can discuss some of these topics:

  1. How do we feel about pest eradication? Whether it's hogs, monkeys, rats, birds, etc. Where do we draw the line between killing coyotes or groundhogs (and completely discarding their remains) and, say, killing a monkey? Understand that this is a global sub.

  2. How do we feel about showcasing potentially questionable techniques? I'm talking about multiple shots at running hogs, intentionally wounding without necessarily dispatching the animal, etc.?

  3. Where do we draw the line with "what's the best X for Y"? There's a lot of overlap between this sub and other firearm-related subs. As an example, r/guns is almost 4x the size of r/hunting. So what's the difference between "what's a good gun for a deer at 150 yards?" and "what's a good gun for a target at 150 yards?".

Let's have the talk. Let's talk about what YOU want this sub to look like. Over the next few weeks as I settle in, keep your eye on the changes and my moderation style; I'll be expanding the mod team at some point, so if you like what's going on, there will be an opportunity for you to join.

Thank you, everyone!

Edit

  1. How do we feel about age/score posts? I feel like there are...a lot. Maybe a megathread?

The amount of downvotes are interesting.

My first ever hot sauce!

Cayenne, Calabrian, onion, garlic, carrot, a cinnamon stick, and a cardamom pod. Fermented for 7 days in a 3% salt brine. Then blended with a little white vingear and pineapple.

First 4 ingredients were home grown.

My wife and I love it. It's like Cholula's chili garlic, but with a sharper bite upfront. The flavor builds with every bite and lingers.

I also have Aleppos and jalapeños that I grew.

VOTE

There are 92 days until the midterm elections. 35 Senate seats and all 435 House seats are up for grabs.

In 2024, 64% of registered voters actually cast a vote; in the 2022 midterms, that number was only 46%.

Adults 18-29 make up roughly 20% of eligible voters, but in 2024 made up only 15% of the actual voters.

It doesn't always seem like it, but your voice and your vote matters. OBBB, which directly impacted your student loans, was a bill passed in Congress. Other changes that may impact you, your education, or your patients also get decided by Congress. Your vote--regardless of your political party--sends a signal to your elected representatives about the direction you want this country to go in.

So please take a minute to make sure that you're registered to vote and that your registration is up to date. Research the candidates and issues, know your polling place or state laws/procedures for an absentee/mail-in ballot.

**Decisions are made by those who show up.**

First attempt at croissants

They were incredible.

MF231 low pressure light

MF231s low pressure light is on and doesn't turn off after the engine warms up. I've only had the tractor a few months, and I'm fairly new to tractor ownership.

I changed the oil and filter and the light is still on. I found the wire and disconnected it and it turns the light off. Plugging it back turns the light back on.

Googling, it looks like my next task should be to check the pressure with a gauge. The problem is...I have no idea where to hook that up to.

Anyone have an idea? First picture is where the wire connects.

Basically the title. I've had the tractor maybe a month and it's worked fine. I go out today and it doesn't start at all.

I let it warm up a few minutes (like usual), lights work, 12.25V at the battery, goes down to about 11.95 when I go to start it. Tried jumping it with my car to no avail.

I've tried switching it in/out of neutral/gear, in/out of H/L, parking brake on/off. I get no clicks, no other noise, nada.

I'm all out of ideas, but have projects that are beckoning...

How else can I troubleshoot?
