Yamatick?!?

My girlfriends dad told her to tell me that I should go to a “real” mechanic but I know I can figure this out I think the sound is normal but wanted to check on Reddit because I don’t have a manual and autozone doesn’t carry a tracer 9GT Haynes manual the guy at autozone said the hydraulic lifters on these bikes sometimes goes out but what does he know! I bet he doesn’t even ride a motorcycle and if he does it’s probably a Harley or some slow ass bike lol idk whatever all I know is that I changed the oil when I bought it (2021) and the oil still looks good when I drain some to inspect it I don’t think the problem is the oil what do you think thanks fam

Yamaha CP3 Exhaust Cam Wear

Hey All! First time poster here: when performing my first valve adjustment at 22k miles on my 2021 Tracer 9GT, I pulled the cam because all my ex valves were out of spec. I was surprised to see this discoloration; I don’t know if the CP3 cams were DLC coated, but it’s pretty obvious there’s some sort of coating and it’s rubbed off on the apex of the cam lobes and there’s some odd striation just past apex on both sides.

It’s totally visual; there’s zero “feeling” or hang up when I run my finger nail or even a pane of glass across it. It’s totally smooth. Also, the bearings are fine-zero grooving or damage.

Any thoughts on this kind of wear? Bike runs flawlessly and oil has always been free of death sparkles so I’m likely just gonna send it. Never seen this kind of wear before on a moto cam and was hoping for some more experienced eyes to give it a glance. Thanks!
