Should I apply to the new OINP Workforce Priority Stream now or wait until 2027 for a higher EOI score?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to decide whether I should enter the new Ontario Workforce Priority Stream EOI as soon as I’m eligible, or wait until early 2027 when I expect to have a significantly higher score.

Here is my situation:

Age: 24
Education: 3-year Advanced Diploma in Business Administration – Finance
Graduated: May 2025
Current job: Full-time, permanent Accounting Clerk in Oakville, Ontario
Started working: October 2025
Current salary: $57,000/year (37.5 hours/week, approximately $29.23/hour)
Current NOC: 14200 – Accounting and related clerks (TEER 4)
IELTS: L 9.0 / R 8.0 / W 7.0 / S 8.0
Canadian work experience: Since October 2025
2025 CRA NOA income: $29,885
Current OINP EOI score: approximately 69 points

I’m considering taking on additional accounting responsibilities at my current employer so that my position could potentially become NOC 12200 – Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (TEER 2).

If I genuinely transition into a NOC 12200 position, my understanding is that my EOI score could increase.

My rough plan is:

• Current: ~69 points
• NOC 12200 + 13–24 months experience: ~78 points
• NOC 12200 + 13–24 months + 2026 CRA NOA: ~84 points

I expect to receive my 2026 NOA around early 2027, assuming I file my taxes as soon as possible.

My question:

Would you recommend that I:

A) Try to enter the OINP EOI as soon as possible with my lower score (69 points currently or potentially around 78 once I move to NOC 12200), or

B) Wait until early 2027, get my 2026 NOA, and enter with approximately 84 points?

I’m particularly interested in whether there is any downside to waiting, given that this is a new stream and we don’t yet know what the invitation cutoffs will look like.

Ontario Workforce Priority Stream

Thinking of hiring an RCIC/Lawyer to help me with applying for the new stream through my employer.

Do you think it’s better to hire one if the process is complicated or I can just do it myself?

Also does anyone have any good suggestions for an RCIC/Lawyer if i decide to go down that route?

Buying SPUS/HLAL from Canada worth it?

Canadian resident looking to invest in SPUS/HLAL instead of WSHR and I am wondering if it is worth the conversion fee implications?

I’ve read few other strategies that people try such as buying through IBKR or norbert’s gambit but if I wanted to ignore all of this and just straight up buy SPUS/HLAL through WealthSimple, will I be losing out on a lot of money or is it worth it?

CANADA - TFSA

24 years old and looking to finally open a TFSA account through WealthSimple. I already feel very behind.

Issue I’m running into right now is I don’t know where to park my money. When I first opened it I figured i’ll just invest in VFV or XEQT but I just realized those are not sharia compliant.

As a Canadian who doesn’t want to invest in US ETFs due to the conversion fee, is WSHR really the only option muslims canadians have when it comes to ETFs? Only reason why I don’t want to invest all my money in that is that I’ve heard and read that it’s not that great. But at the same time I’m I don’t think i’ve any other option to invest my money.

If I’m looking to park my money in there and continue to regularly invest in it for the next 20+ years, is it a good idea to invest in WSHR?
