Unintentional pairings and themes??

SOTC of 1 year of getting into watches…

Bought what I liked without any thought of what it meant in regards to a collection lol.

Finally got a watch box and noticed that I ended up with an unintentional theme of all integrated bracelets and 2 of each (chronographs, Casio and Tsuyosas).

Anyone else seem to buy just one type of watch?

Last addition I’m aiming for is a dress watch.. . Maybe a Mune or Bambino?

I also have a Garmin Fenix 6 pro, not pictured.

Risk of microbrand ownership?

Recently just got into watches. First purchase was a Brew Metric (no complaints).

Then, just picked up this Vaer R1.

Love the watch, look and branding.

But one thing is bothering me. The left chronograph (red and black) is set at -30 to -50 sec behind (slightly left of center). It’s actually more apparent in-person IMO.

(This dial is a 0-60 min timer BTW. So 1 tick = 1 min)

It’s such a small minute detail, but coming from a design background it stood out to me after wearing the watch for the first time.

Looking for some opinions…

Is this just the inherent risk of microbrand ownership or just a Vaer issue? Do I have to worry about this for more expensive watches? Or is this an issue with Quartz watches in general?

Should I reach out to Vaer about this?

Vaer also has an article stating: “Detail is a common sign of quality in watchmaking. However, when it comes to second-hand alignment in quartz watches(whether the watch is made by Vaer, Citizen, Seiko, or Swatch) it is a feature that is impossible to control without complete machine assembly” — though this in reference to the big second hand.

They state that it’s impossible to completely line up the second hand due to it being stacked on top of the other hands, and one off move it compounds.
