Seeing these comments on X this morning reminds me how far we still have to go, and it hurts

So this morning I opened X, and below are just a handful of the posts that were ‘suggested to me’. I honestly thought we were on a path of acceptance, yet it’s clear we still have to continue fighting to be able to be visible. It makes me so sad.

‘We need to go back to a time when you are gay, you kept it a secret because you would get publicly told you were disgusting and get your head kicked in’

‘Do you honestly have no problem with people being gay? I’d love to know how many people actually just say that. I find gay men fucking disgusting. Fucking weirdos, they speak weird. I’m just being honest. I just don’t get it.’

‘Having it thrown in our faces is against our human rights. If ya gay ya gay so what you don’t have to push it in peoples faces you weirdos

There were so many more. Makes me wonder did we ever make progress and it has just creeped back in, or was the hate always there, but did we just have a period where it was hidden?! What do you lot think?

Edit: So after many of your lovely comments, I now realise X is not a viable app for anyone who is different from Cis White Hetro (I obviously never got the memo).
I think I will be doing what many of you have and delete my X account.

What the survivors could have done for pain relief- Grew Poppies?!

I was doing a re-watch of The Walking Dead, and suddenly had, what I thought was a genius idea, to grow poppies to then utilise as pain relief when people got injured.
Obviously I know this wouldn’t be a priority as food/water and other meds would be more needed. But for when they had a situation, such as Aaron needing his arm amputated, they could have made poppy tea as pain relief for him to use after the amputation, as they wouldn’t have had time to wait for it to kick in before doing the job, but afterwards, he could have been pain free!
Anyone think this is a good idea, and if you were ever in a Walking Dead situation and all medication from pharmacies had already been scavenged, would you grow them as well?

Laser Lithotripsy not fully completed

So I was in today to have laser lithotripsy with a stent fitted afterwards, but after I woke was told they couldn’t fit the laser through the tube as it was too tight, so they didn’t end up lasering, just fitted a stent, was told I’d have to go back to have the laser at another date.
The thing is, I am in agony simply from the stent, and the pain when urinating and even the pain from feeling like needing to urinate is unbearable. I’m honestly debating whether I will go back to get the laser if it is this bad already!
They’ve sent me home with Tamsulosin and antibiotics, plus I had at home already from my GP codeine, aswell as a little bit of oramorph (liquid morphine). If the pain isn’t eased from this, is there anything else anyone can suggest, aside from paracetamol/ibuprofen?
How long will it feel like I am pissing razor blades and no more blood in my urine?

As a Brit, my option on Shameless US has changed

So, I’m from the UK, Manchester to be exact, and live literally 10 minutes from where the original Shameless was filmed. Being from here, I know many a family like the UK Gallaghers/Maguire’s etc, so I used to think the original Shameless was superior. I’d started and stopped Shameless US countless times, as it just didn’t hit right after loving the UK Shameless so much.
I’d recently given Shameless US another go, and I’m now on the final season, and I have to say, it’s been fucking awesome and I’m sad I’m near the end. The stories from season 3 and onwards where just superior. It’s crazy to think that if we’d have managed to keep the main cast such as Fiona, Lip, Debbie, Veronica, Kevin etc in the UK one, how amazing our later seasons could have been too.
All in all, I think both versions are epic, but the US version just may win as my favourite, and it’s shocked me to even type this.

No reaction from Tretinoin

So I purchased 0.05% Tretinoin online, and have been using it every second day. Prior to this I was a regular user of retinol. The thing is I don’t seem to be getting any what many would call negative side effects from it, such as redness, peeling etc, and I think I could probably use it every night and not get any. I’m started to wonder if it’s a legitimate product because of this? Is it unusual to not get bad side effects or should I be by now?

Edit: To add I got it from All Day Chemist. Has anyone used this before and can vouch that it’s legit?

[IOS 27 DB1] Apple Intelligence storage amount has gone down

So I’ve joined the waitlist for Siri AI, and still in the queue. When I first installed iOS 27 the storage space allocated to Apple Intelligence was 16.37GB, 4 days later that’s gone down to 747.1MB. Anyone know why that may be?
