What makes internal communication fail in growing teams?
I have seen this happen in a few teams I worked with when the team is small communication is mostly direct people sit close talk often and even if something is not written anywhere it still reaches everyone as the team grows that natural flow breaks different groups start using different ways to share updates some rely on chat some on email and some things are still passed verbally over time there is no single place where everyone checks first.
Timing also becomes an issue office staff see updates quickly but warehouse or field teams are not always in front of screens so the same message reaches people at different times or sometimes not at all and ownership is another thing I have noticed when it is not clear who is responsible for making sure everyone is informed updates get repeated or missed.
What do you think breaks first in growing teams the way information is shared or the way people actually follow it?
