Recommendations for quiet pub grub

Hello! I have some estranged family coming to Bath for dinner so we can reunite after almost 20 years of seeing each other and I said I’d book somewhere for dinner.

They like simple pub grub type food and meat/chicken dishes- nothing too fancy but a nice atmosphere and quiet enough to talk properly.

Any recommendations? (Not the Salamander as I have personal history with someone who works there 😅 — anywhere else is golden)

Thank you!!

Season 4 episode 1

Guys, PLEASE no spoilers. I have been watching this show for the first time and it is… the best thing I have ever seen?! I absolutely love it. It’s become my comfort show. I’m already sad about it ending in 2 seasons time because I genuinely don’t know what I’ll do without it.

I have just got to season 4 episode 1 and cannot stop thinking about the ending scene. I am absolutely broken and also somehow hopeful. I just had no one to talk to about how much it moved me so needed to post here. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so moving 💔

Odeon

Has anyone been to the odeon recently and if so, what was the temperature like inside?

There’s been a notice on their website for months about broken air conditioning. I was planning to go and see the Odyssey this weekend but I don’t really want to go watch a 3 hour film if it’s boiling in there.

Anyone know?!

Feeling down about slow weight loss

Hi everyone,

Feeling very down this morning and could use some advice/ a pep talk and some motivation to keep going.

I’m on week 11 of wegovy (currently still on 0.5 dose) and have only lost 9lbs. For the past 2 weeks I’ve lost nothing (actually gained half a pound) despite eating in a calorie deficit (1700-1800 cals a day).

I don’t get to exercise much because I’m at home with my autistic son who is currently out of school and to be honest the side effect of fatigue, anhedonia and low energy have made it even more difficult.

I know I’m still on a low dose but I’m just fed up. I’m going up to 1.0 after my next couple of shots and I wish I’d titrated up sooner. Please tell me it gets better? I feel the initial appetite suppression has worn off and I’m constantly hungry.

I have hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes and chronic fatigue syndrome so my body really struggles to lose weight.

I’m eating over 100g of protein each day, trying to increase fibre, sleep 8-9 hours, drink loads of water. Is there anything else I can be doing to make myself feel better and trigger more weight loss?

Thanks so much everyone 💖🥹

I’m on week 3 of 0.25 dose and my main side effects have been nausea and feeling a bit depressed, though this week those have started to subside and the food noise has ramped up a bit.

Last night I went to bed later than usual and was STARVING even after my usual dinner. I had some peanut butter on toast and then was still hungry so had some Cheerios. I felt tired and full then so lay down to go to sleep.

Big mistake 😂

Woke up 2 hours later with the worst sulfer burps and nausea I’ve ever experienced. Chills and sweating, promptly followed by heartburn, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Just thought I’d share so others can avoid my (stupid) mistake!
