Never really got into the show until my wife and I started binging this a little bit ago and just finished up season 8 a couple weeks ago and we're looking for something else to binge watch and decided on Castle.

Something came to me while watching the Halloween episode of Castle where Nathan fillion dressed up as Captain Mal for Halloween at least in one scene. I thought it would be kind of interesting to either have an episode where they show a bookshelf in Nolan's house that has a series of the books from Castle, from Richard Castle, or even have an episode where they make a call to a New York detective named Kate Beckett.

Not suggesting an ongoing thing just a little one off that would potentially catch the eye of people that have seen both shows. There's a couple different ways of doing that like the supposed movie that they were going to be making from Castle's book, being in Hollywood that would be an easy one to slip in there. Maybe have a scene that takes place on a movie lot and a sign talks about the movie or there's addressing room trailer for the character Nikki Heat.

Long story short I'm trying to get Google voice on my wife's phone. I did it on my phone just fine but when I tried to do her phone it is is exiting out or crashing after I select her email address. I've tried restarting the phone to no avail so I'm wondering if anybody also seen this issue.

UPDATE: I got it working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and making sure all permissions were set but what it turned out to be was some weird glitch.

She had a Google voice number years ago but it wasn't showing up in the app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and that's when I saw her number was still attached. So I was able to release that number and get a new number because we are no longer in the same state and it went in and we didn't even have to verify her ID.

As the title states I have an ER 605 VPN router. I'm also trying to configure Ooma for home telephone. I purchased the telo device and it arrived yesterday.

I went through the initial setup and the telo device does not connect properly. Originally it had the red flashing light and never initialized. I contacted Ooma technical support and they pushed me through some hoops and I also did a little bit of research and put through some other changes. Changes I've tried.

I've disabled flood protection, I've disabled the SIP ALG and the h232 protocols as those have been known to, counterintuitively, cause problems with consumer grade VoIP devices, I've ensured the IPv6 is disabled as that was something I saw as a potential issue with telo.

The only thing that was able to get it to actually configure and work was to connect it directly to my ONT. The problem with that is even when I tried to use as a router and connect my TP-Link router to the home RJ45 the internal network never configured to be able to get internet. So it's not working as a router or there's some kind of conflict with the router device in the telo and the ER605. When I put it back after it initialized its back to flashing red and being unusable. I've also created a static IP for the device and put that IP in the DMZ configuration for the router and that is also not changing anything.

Last message I got from Ooma was to throw their hands up an air and say it's TP-Link's problem as it does initialize and connect directly on the ONT.

I was hoping somebody may have experience with situations similar to this and you can point me in a direction of a configuration change on the ER 605 that might get this to work. Otherwise it's a return and back to having no home phone.

Update: so I've been working on this trying to get it working obviously. My latest attempt was to isolate from my Pi-Hole server because what I was seeing was it maybe an issue with the DNS resolution with the Ooma servers. Unfortunately my ER 605 is in standalone mode and does not have some of the more advanced options so what I had to do was sit up a VLAN specifically for the VoIP device and set that to a default with DNS resolution through Google and cloudflare. I also had to set up custom routes as I was finding information that said that using a DMZ may fail.

So everything is still not working. So my next step will be to reconfigure my entire network later this afternoon by installing the Omada software on my NAS server and adopting the router and the access point. But that requires configuration of that software in its entirety before I adopt so it's going to be a bit of work. But I'm hoping that the more advanced functionality in the Omada controller will allow me to be more granular with the router configuration.
