My 4th gen has a suncoast guardian 68rfe kit transmission its not old maybe 90k miles and i changed the fluid not too long ago. Under normal driving it stays about 100° over ambient temp or lower but when climbing around in the mountain trails yesterday to go tent camping i was surprised to see it got all the way up to 222 it was 76 outside. Wasnt doing anything crazy just slowly driving up the trails in 4x4. I dont know if the thermostat has been deleted guessing it hasnt but any tips or tricks would be much appreciated

My 2003 ALH manual beetle has always has this little errch sound right after it starts. Today, I noticed it is longer and way more intense. Pun not intended. Ill attach a video but im trying to think about what it could be, maybe a starter issue, vacuum, or fuel pump are my best guesses. This sound only happens immediately after start up runs just fine with no other weird noises.
