Me and another user had a debate over which order to watch the X-Men movies: here are both of our convos (happened sorta at the same time)

CONVO 1:

Me (replying to his post): X-Men movies should be in this order: X-Men: First Class, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Deadpool, Deadpool: No Good Deed, Logan, Deadpool 2, Deadpool & Wolverine. If you place them any differently confusion rates will be higher than mount everest. If you think they can be placed in another order and work fine, you have never watched these movies.

Him: The confusion rate is higher anyways because of certain twists and plots - and the timeline splitting - and I feel that is why these movies are difficult to actually put in chronological watch order.

I watched all the movies. And I watched them in the order I listed as well. And honestly, I did not find it confusing, but I can see why might do.

Plus, I just listed them in the order of the year they are set it.

Me: Yes but Mystique dies in Dark Phoenix, yet appears just a few years later on your timeline perfectly alive. also, Jean Grey dies in Dark Phoenix as well and is magically resurrected AND not evil anymore in X-Men??

Him: him: I know, and it is hella confusing, but again, the timeline split, and Dark Phoenix takes place in an alternate, revised timeline created by X-Men: Days of Future Past (1973) (together with Apocalypse). OG X-Men takes place in 2000. That is how she alive. For the same reason Jean also is there in the OG timeline. It is not the same Mystique and not the same Jean Grey.

The other OG X-Men movies are running like this: X-Men, X2, The Last Stand and the 2023 story psrt of DoFP.

Edit: And that is another reason why X-Men and especially DoFP is super relevant, cause they messed with time.

In what order do you consider them to be?

Me: X-Men: First Class (start of all x-men films), X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past (wolverine goes back in time and restarts the x-men timeline), X-Men: Apocalypse (back in 1983 after wolverine reset the timeline), X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Deadpool, Deadpool: No Good Deed, Logan, Deadpool 2, Deadpool & Wolverine (back to present day). You say the timeline splits at DoFP (which takes place in 2023) but then never specify which movies are in the DOFP timeline. Once again, DP2 has to be after logan since DP2 immediately spoils it. What is your source for this timeline, which is respectfully awful.

DoFP takes place in 73 and 23. So it is a tricky one 😅

Deadpool 2 spoiled Logan because it came out after. Came out in 2018, with Logan in 2017. Strictly chronologically, DP2 is 2018, Logan is 2029.

Me: Its not tricky. he goes back in time in 2023 and everything set after 1973 is erased and replaced with the ones i said earlier

Him: Fair point! It starts with First Class no matter what. At least we can agree to that! 😅

I will still argue that DoFP (73) is followed by Origins: Wolverine, Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix (being the end of the alternate timeline starting in 73), and then after that it starts with the OG X-Men, going from 2000 up until the 2023 part of DoFP, so X-Men, X2, Last Stand and the Wolverine movie from 2013 are kind of prequels to the "2023 part" of DoFP.

At the end DoFP they even directly tease and setup Origins: Wolverine.

What is your opinion on the x-men timeline? Can any of you shed some light on why you think one might be better than the other?

Is this a good/accurate timeline for these books? This is not meant to be a first time reader, just a timeline for a 2nd or 3rd read/a timeline for a visual aid to see the scale

Almost 100% Vanilla (I am ok with HeadDB, and certain mods like minimaps, please include mods and plugins in your comment)
Small Community - 5-20 players
Some form of server to chat offline (discord or sm)
focused on building farms/hubs for players & megabuilds + exploring
Healthy-minded community (not making innapropriate jokes every 3 seconds. a few a day is fine)

Don't Wants:

Economy, Dungeon, or any plugins that add structures, items, and mobs
PvP servers
Kingdoms/Roleplay servers
Staged SMPs

Started playing minecraft the week before 1.17 dropped
I am 14. I am ok on 18+ servers as long as they aren't talking about s** the whole time (just why?)
Semi-experienced builder + redstoner (I know how redstone works and can follow farm tutorials and make simple machines without them)
I have about a 3 week-2month phase before i drop off the radar for like 3weeks. if I find the right community, I'm sure this wont happen anymore
Not very good solo (I work best when someone is with me either helping them or helping me)

looking for small server (6-120 people) where I can join and have a chance at nobody being online, but also join and have like 5 people on at once. I want a java server (could even be a realm) and the playerbase has to be people ok with pranks like traps (will give loot back) and generally has nice players who are willing to just help me out with whatever. warning: my minecraft phase lasts about a month with like a 3 week break so I might be offline for weeks at a time. That does not mean i quit, I just can't seem to hold my interests for that long.

things the server cannot have: kingdoms/wars (im ok with some "lore" but not wars) with players, PvP (looking for chill co-op)

things the server should have: everyone contributes to some public thing like a farm or trading hall.

EDIT: I am not 18+, I am 14. If you have a server where you don't want kids ruining the experience, I will very much fit in even if its 18+. If its because of your mouths, I don't wanna be in the server anyway. ( I can take plenty of jokes about being gay, or goth girl jokes, so If its mild like that i will also be ok joining you)
