Black Lion?

Does anyone remember that YouTuber black lion who made arrowverse videos and then made universe restructuring videos? I had a couple of his videos in my youtube watch later and noticed they disappeared, upon investigating turns out he's deleted his entire channel and all social media. Anyone know what the deal is?

Where exactly is Punisher One Last Kill placed in the time line of MCU?

After Daredevil Born Again Season 1 , I did not feel it continues with One Last Kill and no other representation in Season 2 makes me confused .

Does the storyline for Frank Castle continue in Spiderman Brand New Day from One Last Kill ? Then what happened to the events of DBA S1 Frank Castle ?

Updated infographic with Daredevil: Born Again S2 and Punisher: One Las Kill

Hi again! I've updated this infographic with even more animated shows and movies, and the most recent two MCU projects: DD:BA S2 and TP:OLK.

The second season of Born Again (very recommended, it is really cool) takes place six months after season 1, which ended in april 2027. So it takes place around October 2027

We know it takes place after the biggest part of Wonder Man thanks to the official timeline list found in Marvel's official website. And it takes place shortly after Thunderbolts* because we see the Watchtower is shown inthe background

But with the special presentation we only have the official list to go with, since there's no timeline hints in the movie itself. The list places it after everything, being the most recent events of the timeline. Since the weather is warm, it cannot be set in 2027, because the last project in that year ends in October, winter. So rn, it takes place in 2028

There are also some projects added in the timeline that haven't been released yet. These are my guesses as to when they'll take place. Marvel Zombies S2 will most likely be immediately after S1

Spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. >!This movie takes place after Punisher's special, since we know he is going to be in the movie. I also put Phoenix's symbol here as a temporary thing, since I don't think Sadie Sink is going to play Jean Gray.!<

I put VisionQuest at the end of the timeline, but it could be set at any point after Agatha All Along. I'm really hyped about this project. It's sad that itvwill release at the end of the year

What do you think about my timeline? Is there anything wrong or missing? I also noticed that in my last post, I had Punisher's first season placed as "The Punisher", without specifying the season. Soif you see any error, please let me know. Hope you enjoy this infographic!

My MCU Viewing Order (Simi Chronological)

This order is a mix between release order, and chronological. Whatever makes the most sense for maximum enjoyment and story flow.

The breakdown for the Infinity Saga was pretty clear cut. The Multiverse Saga was a bit less straight forward so I grouped them more so by character storylines. Like for example Spider-Man: No Way Home - WandaVision - Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness - Agatha All Along - VisionQuest.

You can watch the Defenders Sage any place just before Spider-Man: Far From Home.

I added some of the Fox and Sony films that had characters and elements carry into the MCU. Feel free to watch the other ones if you want. I just don't think it necessary to watch 3 Blade Films just for a cameo. The films are great but not completely necessary

X-Men Film/TV timeline explained

I thought this would clear up any confusion on when the films and shows take place in

Edit: To give more context, the reason the architecture and fashion in legion looks vintage/ nostalgic is because most of the buildings and architecture was destroyed by magneto in X men apocalypses. So many buildings and entire cities were destroyed in that film, millions died.

The reason the fashion is more nostalgic is because people started looking at the past for inspiration. since the future looks so bleak.

Legion also fits in, when you put charles fighting in the korean war. In the show, we see charles in a war which puts him in a mental hostpital. It would make more sense if Charles was in the Korean war. Plus it makes what he tells Erik "Killing will not bring you peace" More impactful because charles has actually killed people in war.

Legion being in the timeline also improves X men 3, since at the end of the movie Charles puts his mind into a new body. Something he learned from the shadow king, since he did the same thing in Legion.

Edit 2: The reason why there's almost no mutants in deadpool 1 and 2 and why the X mansion is empty is because mutants are slowly dying off, which we find out in Logan.

In deadpool and wolverine, deadpool goes to a reality that's exactly the same as timeline C, but mutants never die off, plus we know this is a different reality since his friends that died in the 2nd movie are suddenly alive.

I did a timeline for my MCU+ 500 hour Chronocut!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to start by saying I love this sub and seeing everyone debate over timeline inclusion and placement.

I have an edit of the entire MCU+ (MCU plus connected universes) that I’m in the process of checking for errors. Over the last year I’ve seen some really cool timelines and I finally decided to make my own, using my edit document.

https://bingerampage.com/MCUtimeline/MCUPlusTimeline.html

The main timeline that load up includes all the different universes that have been connected to the MCU, but you can select a bunch of different universe timeline views.

Although it’s a work in progress, I think it has a really food foundation. If you just want to see my editing doc for the chronocut that’s in the About section.
There’s a watchlist and a spoiler view which blurs out titles you didn’t see, so when you enter, it does ask you to make a username so it can remember your choices, but it’s not for data collection and is totally optional - you can skip with one button.
There’s also a release order view for those who don’t care about chronological (not anyone here lol) and a master list that can remember what you watch or skip.
There’s some fun bonus content, but the feature I love most is the Editor’s View, it shows each event as a scene with ins and outs. All this data coding got some stuff mixed in the details for sure, so when you see Thor with quicksilver’s picture, just know that I know and I’m shaking my damn head.
I’m super interested to hear everyone’s takes on my timeline placements AND all the mistakes I’ve made. With over 4400 cuts, I’m sure there’s more than a few. Most of my timeline data is based off of Marvel wiki, although the other universe were researched separately off a handful of different Marvel timeline forums. I do not always go with the official marvel timeline placement and anyone that knows about “8 years later”, can you blame me?
I’m super open to any constructive criticism and I hope anyone who takes the time to check it out enjoys the timeline - have a great weekend everyone!

EDIT: I somehow deleted the link before I posted it 🤣

The Ultimate Marvel Cinematic Multiverse Watching Order (Road to Doomsday/Secret Wars)

This is an updated version of the watching order originally created by u/pakimonsa15, so full credit to him/her for the foundation of this list.

I’ve expanded and updated it with newer releases and upcoming projects, while trying to keep the order both chronological and enjoyable to watch. The goal was to create one integrated timeline that connects the MCU with the wider Marvel multiverse as we head toward Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The list:

PHASE ZERO - 14 films, and 1 TV season.
Films of other universes that have crossovers with the MCU and the best way to watch them is chronologically.

  1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  2. Spider-Man
  3. Spider-Man 2
  4. Spider-Man 3
  5. X-Men
  6. X2: X-Men United
  7. X-Men: The Last Stand
  8. Daredevil
  9. Elektra
  10. Blade
  11. Blade II
  12. Blade: Trinity
  13. Blade: The Series
  14. Fantastic Four
  15. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

PHASE ONE - 7 films, 4 short films, and 2 TV seasons.

  1. Iron Man
  2. The Incredible Hulk - Originally set in 2008, the film was retconned to Fury's Big Week in 2010 and ends after Thor.  Best watched here because it doesn't have major connections, the Culver University battle is referenced in IM2 and the end scene is a nice call to IM2.
  3. Iron Man 2
  4. The Consultant - Quickly explains the deal with TIH ending.
  5. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer
  6. Thor - Marvel connected it directly after Iron Man 2, so it is set here.
  7. Captain America: The First Avenger - The film is framed from the perspective of SHIELD after finding Steve's body and shield, and ends after he awakes.
  8. Agent Carter (Season 1)
  9. Agent Carter (Season 2)
  10. Agent Carter (One-Shot)
  11. Captain Marvel (Except the mid-credits scene) - The film continues the Tesseract storyline, has Nicky Fury as a main character and sets up the Avenger Initiative, leading into The Avengers.
  12. The Avengers
  13. Item 47
Captain Marvel can be skipped and watched before Endgame if you don't want to skip the mid-credit scene.

PHASE TWO - 9 films, 1 short film, 6 TV seasons, and 1 episode.

  1. [The Amazing Spider-Man]
  2. [The Wolverine]
  3. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 1, Episodes 1-7)
  4. Thor: The Dark World
  5. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 1, Episodes 8-15)
  6. Iron Man 3
  7. All Hail the King
  8. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  9. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 1, Episodes 16-22)
  10. Guardians of the Galaxy
  11. I Am Groot (Season 1, Episode 1)
  12. [The Amazing Spider-Man 2]
  13. Daredevil (Season 1) - Although the storyline might not be canon, Matt Murdock and Kingpin are, so everything related to them will be added. All Netflix media is skippable for now.
  14. Jessica Jones (Season 1)
  15. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 2, Episodes 1-19)
  16. Avengers: Age of Ultron
  17. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 2, Episodes 20-22)
  18. Ant-Man
  19. Daredevil (Season 2)
  20. Luke Cage (Season 1)

PHASE THREE - 9 films, 3 post-credit scenes, 23 TV seasons, and 1 web series.

  1. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 3, Episodes 1-19)
  2. Iron Fist (Season 1)
  3. The Defenders (Season 1)
  4. Captain America: Civil War
  5. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 3, Episodes 20-22)
  6. Black Panther
  7. Inhumans
  8. Spider-Man: Homecoming
  9. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot (Episodes 1-6)
  10. The Punisher (Season 1)
  11. Doctor Strange
  12. Cloak & Dagger (Season 1)
  13. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 4)
  14. Jessica Jones (Season 2)
  15. Luke Cage (Season 2)
  16. Runaways (Season 1)
  17. Iron Fist (Season 2)
  18. Daredevil (Season 3)
  19. Cloak & Dagger (Season 2)
  20. Runaways (Season 2)
  21. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Although it happens in 2014, it is better to keep up with the Guardians right before Infinity War instead of watching everything before Age of Ultron. And the post-credit scene of Groot is set closer to Infinity War.
  22. I Am Groot - (Season 1, Episodes 2-5)
  23. I Am Groot - (Season 2)
  24. Thor: Ragnarok (Except mid-credit scene)
  25. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 5, Episodes 1-13)
  26. Ant-Man and the Wasp (Except both post-credits scenes) - IMO, the story fits a lot better before Infinity War.
  27. The Punisher (Season 2)
  28. Jessica Jones (Season 3)
  29. Runaways (Season 3)
  30. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 5, Episodes 14-22)
  31. Thor: Ragnarok (mid-credits scene)
  32. Avengers: Infinity War
  33. Ant-Man and the Wasp (post-credits scenes)
  34. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 6)
  35. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Season 7)
  36. Helstrom - Now it's considered non-canon, but it initially was considered, and if watched, it fits here.
  37. Captain Marvel (mid-credits scene)
  38. Avengers: Endgame

PHASE FOUR - 23 films, 7 TV seasons.

  1. Loki (Season 1) - Set right after Loki's scenes from Endgame
  2. [X-Men: First Class] - sets the tone for the new X-Men films.
  3. [X-Men: Days of a Future Past] - set in 2023, resets the timeline in 1973.
  4. [X-Men: Apocalypse]
  5. [X-Men: Dark Phoenix]
  6. [Madame Web]
  7. What If...? (Season 1)
  8. [Deadpool]
  9. [The New Mutants]
  10. [Logan]
  11. [Deadpool 2]
  12. [Venom]
  13. WandaVision - Three weeks after Endgame and the first released media from Phase 4.
  14. [Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse] - Its sequel references the MCU. Is set 1 year and four months before that.
  15. Spider-Noir Series - Possibly the same character or a variant of Spider-Man Noir from Into the Spider-Verse.
  16. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Set around March and April (because the Qingming Festival falls on April 4th in the year 2024).
  17. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Set six months after Endgame.
  18. Spider-Man: Far From Home - Set eight months after Endgame.
  19. Eternals - Set in October, during No Way Home, but it's best watched here.
  20. [Venom: Let There Be Carnage] - Venom arrives on the MCU in the post-credits scene, during No Way Home.
  21. Spider-Man: No Way Home - Begins in July and ends in December.
  22. [Venom: The Last Dance] - Venom returns to his universe.
  23. [Morbius] - Post-credits scene set during or after NWH
  24. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Set during fall, and the Disney+ timeline put it before Hawkeye and it must be set after NWH. Although it could be set in 2025.
  25. Black Widow - although it is set in 2016, it sets up Yelena storyline, which leads right into Hawkeye.
  26. Hawkeye - Set in Christmas 2024.
  27. [Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse] - References No Way Home, so it's set in the year after that film.
  28. Moon Knight - Set in April-May 2025
  29. Thor: Love and Thunder - The film begins in April and ends in October, but because it is referenced in She-Hulk, and it's a Phase Four film, I put it here.
  30. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Set in May 2025. Although other projects were released before this one, I put it as the end of Phase Four because there were already too many projects here and it was the last film to be released.

PHASE FIVE - 9 films, 13 TV seasons, and 2 TV specials.

  1. Echo - Set in May 2025. It is officially a Phase Five film, so it marks the beginning of the phase.
  2. She-Hulk - Set from April to September, the Disney+ timeline puts it here, before Ms. Marvel. (Officially Phase Four, but it fits better here)
  3. Ms. Marvel - Set in September-October 2025, at the beginning of the semester, clearly conflicting with the Eid dates of 2025, but it was probably a mistake by the writers, who wanted to include a Muslim holiday. (Officially Phase Four, but chronologically fits here)
  4. Ironheart - Set in September-October 2025, and was put after Ms. Marvel in the Disney+ Timeline.
  5. Werewolf by Night
  6. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
  7. [Kraven the Hunter]
  8. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania - Set in July 2026
  9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - Set between Quantumania and Secret Invasion
  10. Loki (Season 2) - Ends after Quantumania. Disney puts it after The Marvels, but it's best watched here.
  11. What If...? (Season 2) - Shows Loki's tree, so it's best watched here.
  12. Deadpool & Wolverine - Disney+ puts it after The Marvels, and it could be between The Marvels and Agatha All Along, but it feels better watching it after Loki.
  13. Secret Invasion
  14. The Marvels - Although Kamala's age it's the same as in Ms. Marvel, Disney+ puts it firmly after Secret Invasion, which happens in November because of Unity Day.
  15. Agatha All Along - Set three years after WandaVision
  16. What If...? (Season 3)
  17. Daredevil: Born Again (Season 1) - Takes place in 2026-2027, and it doesn't reference Captain America 4.
  18. Captain America: Brave New World - Set in April 2027
  19. Thunderbolts - Set after Captain America 4 and 15 years after The Avengers.
  20. Fantastic Four: First Steps
  21. Wonder Man
  22. Daredevil: Born Again S2
  23. Spider-Man: Brand New Day
  24. VisionQuest

My Theory: Days of Future Past Doesn't Create a New Timeline—It Reconstructs the Existing One Until It Eventually Leads to Logan

The Reconstructed Timeline Theory: How Days of Future Past Still Leads to Logan

One of the biggest problems in the Fox X-Men universe is that the timeline seems impossible to reconcile after Days of Future Past. Mystique dies in Dark Phoenix despite being alive in the original trilogy, Jean appears dead and alive at different points, and Logan seems disconnected from the happy ending of Days of Future Past.

This theory proposes that the timeline does not split into completely separate realities. Instead, after Wolverine changes history in Days of Future Past, the timeline gradually reconstructs itself, preserving major outcomes while altering the details.

Step 1: The Original Timeline

The original sequence of events is:

First Class → Origins: Wolverine → X-Men → X2 → The Last Stand → The Wolverine → Days of Future Past (future)

In this timeline, Mystique assassinates Bolivar Trask. Her DNA is studied and used to develop the adaptive Sentinel program. This eventually leads to the dark future seen in Days of Future Past where mutants are hunted, imprisoned, and nearly exterminated.

Step 2: Wolverine Changes History

When Wolverine travels back to 1973, he prevents Mystique from killing Trask.

This erases the Sentinel apocalypse and creates a new timeline.

Most fans assume this creates a completely separate continuity, but this theory argues otherwise.

Step 3: Mystique Remains a Constant

Although Mystique survives 1973, she still dies later in Dark Phoenix.

This is significant because it suggests that changing history altered the path of events but did not completely remove certain major outcomes.

Mystique dies in both versions of history, but under different circumstances.

This makes her one of the most important pivot points in the entire X-Men timeline.

Step 4: Timeline Reconstruction

After Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, history continues moving forward.

However, the timeline begins reconstructing itself around the changes.

The events of the original trilogy do not happen exactly as before, but similar outcomes still occur:

  • Wolverine joins the X-Men.
  • Cyclops becomes a major member of the team.
  • Jean eventually returns after Dark Phoenix.
  • Xavier's school survives.
  • The X-Men continue operating into the future.

The details change, but the general destination remains similar.

This explains why Wolverine wakes up at the end of Days of Future Past and finds a future that resembles the classic X-Men status quo despite the massive historical changes.

Step 5: The Wolverine Still Happens

At some point after these events, Logan still travels to Japan.

The events of The Wolverine occur in a modified form within the reconstructed timeline.

This allows Logan to meet Mariko and Yukio even though history has changed.

Not every event is identical to the original timeline, but enough similarities remain for major character relationships and experiences to still happen.

Step 6: The Happy Ending Is Temporary

The ending of Days of Future Past is often viewed as the perfect ending of the franchise.

This theory disagrees.

The ending simply represents a period of peace.

For years, mutants thrive, Xavier's school remains open, and old friends are reunited.

However, history continues moving forward.

Step 7: The Road to Logan

Decades later, new problems emerge.

Mutants begin disappearing, Xavier grows older, and society changes.

Eventually the world reaches the state seen in Logan.

This means Logan is not a separate timeline.

It is the final stage of the reconstructed timeline that began when Wolverine changed history in Days of Future Past.

The Sentinel future was prevented, but mutantkind was never guaranteed a permanent victory.

Conclusion

The Fox X-Men timeline is not made up of disconnected continuities.

Instead, Days of Future Past creates a reconstructed history where certain events change while major outcomes gradually reappear in new forms.

Mystique remains one of the most important figures in mutant history, the X-Men continue after Dark Phoenix despite her death, The Wolverine still occurs, and the story ultimately leads to Logan.

The future was changed, but it was never completely escaped.

Ranking the MCU After Completing Timeline Rewatch

I spent the last 2+ years watching the MCU and decided to do a complete timeline watch. I mostly used the Disney order but for the TV series I did peruse the r/MCU_timeline subreddit and some of their experts broke it down into great detail what to watch.

While watching I decided I might as well rank them as I went along. I was rewatching a lot of them but there were some movies and shows I had not seen or had not seen in a long time. I was surprised by my rankings.

I tried to do everything under the MCU but I did skip Agents of Shield- it was just sooo much TV if I did that. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed really the overwhelming majority of this list. Almost everything under the MCU, for me, rises to the minimum category of at least good or mediocre movies/TV. The at least upper half of the MCU I consider great, and some of my favorite movies and TV in any genre are near the top of this list. When it came to ranking, I divided the TV shows up by seasons as I think some have distinct feels and can vary by quality quite a bit (plus I feel it’s easier to try and compare a season of TV against a movie than an entire series).

I’m far from a Marvel expert, feel free to debate and rip this list to shreds, but I thought it would be fun to put my opinion out there. Gonna be no surprise at first glance I’m a big fan of Captain America and Daredevil, not as high on Spider Man and Thor as others are. Phase 4 does disappoint overall but it’s being compared to some amazing movies in phases 1-3 and I still enjoyed the majority of them.

My MCU Watch Order - Phase 1

I recently started a complete MCU rewatch. It's not release order, nor is it purely chronological--I'm trying to build an optimal watch order that flows nicely. That being said, it's also relevant to me and how/what I'd like to watch. This is not an order I would recommend for first time viewers--I did try to tag relevant spoilers in my explanations below.

Captain America: The First Avenger - up through Valkyrie fight

extra: Agents of SHIELD 2.01 Shadows opening teaser scene - Shows >!Peggy and some of the Howling Commandos after Steve goes down,!< but before the events of Agent Carter

Agent Carter one-shot

Agent Carter seasons 1-2

extra: Agents of SHIELD 7.04 Out of the Past - This makes zero sense here and spoils tons of other things to come, I do not recommend this if it's your first time through the MCU, or if you don't like the Marvel Television stuff. But I personally felt it was fun to see >!Sousa again and see a resolution to his time with SSR/SHIELD after Agent Carter was so rudely cancelled. !<

Captain Marvel - (skip mid-credit scene until after Infinity War)

Iron Man

Iron Man 2 - (post credit scene cut-down from Thor can be skipped)

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer - one-shot

Thor

extra: deleted Arctic scene from Incredible Hulk - Doesn't make much sense if you've not seen IH before; >!was obviously inspiration for dialogue in Avengers.!<

Incredible Hulk - skip pre-credits scene, see OS below.

The Consultant - one-shot

Captain America: The First Avenger - remainder of the film (post credit scene cut-down from Avengers can be skipped)

The Avengers

Item 47 - one-shot

I loved Marvel Television and AoS was a big part of my fandom, so I'm happy to pepper little bits of that in my watch order, and I don't expect anyone else to feel the same way.

This was a lot of fun watching, and I'll probably post what order I settle on for the other phases as I work through them. I almost put a couple of What If? episodes in here too, but ended up not doing so.
