Damaged skin barrier itching and tingling?

Has anyone here experience itching, tingling and dryness from a damaged skin barrier? I’ve only been rinsing my face with water for the past 3 days since it’s so sensitive right now, but my skin gets red/splotchy and itchy afterwards :(

Best Day Time Moisturizers?

Hi all!

I’m currently using the Aestura Atobarrier lotion at night and my skin loves it, however it feels a bit heavy for the day time. Since summer is approaching, I’d like to rotate with a light weight moisturizer in the mornings.

I’m in the trial and error phase and I recently tried the Cerave Ultra-Light Moisturizing Gel but it broke me out :(

What are some of your favorite moisturizers? I have combination + sensitive skin and I flush easily during the warmer/hotter months.

Purging vs Breaking Out?

Hi all!

I recently started a skincare routine last week (cleanse face with water + Axis-Y No Stress SPF for AM, then LRP gentle hydrating cleanser + Cerave ultra lightweight gel moisturizer PM) and Altreno on Saturday. I’ve only used Altreno twice so far (Saturday and Tuesday) however I noticed some redness/irritation, tightness and tiny whiteheads on my forehead and right cheek since yesterday.

I tried the sandwich method on Saturday, and applied moisturizer on top after applying Altreno on Tuesday (no sandwich method).

Can purging start as soon as you start using a retinoid? My skin was fairly clear before I started and I hardly get any breakouts (except for my chin area), so I’m not sure if my skin is purging from the Altreno, breaking out from skincare products, or both 😅

Hi all!

I’m planning on transferring out of my community college and I’m aiming to major in bio with a concentration in neuroscience at either Hunter or Stony Brook University.

Pros/Cons of Hunter vs SBU so far:

Hunter is closer to home with a shorter commute (approx 30 mins), more affordable, but rigorous committee letter

SBU has a longer commute (approx 2.5 hours each day or I’d consider dorming = extra $$$), but access to the hospital can mean more research opportunities, clinical and shadowing hours.

While I’m figuring out the two, I’d love to hear anyones experiences on either schools :)
