Does comprehensible input work for Thai?

I've been interested in learning Thai for a long time because I'm interested in Thai culture and I wanna travel there someday. I heard that comprehensible input is a technique kids use to learn their native language, so I wanted to give it a try. I've also seen people say that it doesn't work and that the process is very slow. Which has been hindering me in fully devoting my time into this technique.

My question is, has this technique actually worked on anyone? when should I be expected to understand thai ? and how long does this technique take time to work ?

I wanna be as patient as possible but sometimes it is discouraging when I feel like I'm making no improvements

Sister reveals she only hangs with me because our mom asked her to

My sister told me last night that essentially the only reason why she asks me to hang out with her is because my mom told her to. For context, my sister goes out a lot with her boyfriend. He has a car and a job so it’s easy for them to get around and do things. I stay home most of the time because I don’t have any friends ... :/ my mom noticed this and asked my sister behind my back to take me out more often.

Whenever my mom tells my sister in front of me that she should hang out with me more. I kindly tell her to stop because I don’t want them to feel pity towards me. I don’t want my sister to feel like it’s her responsibility to take me out. I’m a 22 year old female and my sister is 20. I don’t have a car or any money so it is hard for me to go out. But I never once complained about being inside the house. I like my solitude and I have my dog to keep me company.

The only issue is that my sister brought the conversation between her and my mom up during an argument. The argument wasn’t even about me and her, it was about the whole family. So when she told me that the only reason she invites me out is because she’s our mom said so, I was confused.

All the times that we laughed and ate together, was it all because my mom said so? Does she not wanna be around me? All of these questions just spiraled through my head as she told me that.

Honestly, I don’t know what to do anymore. If anyone could just reply, that would make me feel less alone.

Family feels pity towards me and I hate it

I had a big fight with my sister last night. She felt like I threw her under the bus because I had brought up the things she lacked during a family argument. For context, I’m the first daughter in the house. So most of the chores falls on me (cooking, cleaning, looking after our dog) so I get overwhelmed really easily. My sister stays upstairs most of the day and often goes out with her boyfriend. While I’m home doing everything said above. I told her that she’s in charge of the upstairs trash, while I’m in charge of the downstairs. Not even two days later, the upstairs trash wasn’t taken out. So I brought this up in the argument we had. This argument started with my mom but it slowly became about everyone. My sister was on my “side“ when I was arguing with my mom. So I guess the sudden direction towards her made her feel like I threw her under the bus. Bur that wasn’t my intention at all.. long story short she brought up how my mom asked her if she could take me out more because I’m in the house all the time. Mind you, this wasn’t apart of the argument so I don’t know why she brought this up. And I HATE when people feel pity towards me. So for my sister to bring that up really made me question her sincerity. Was she ever sincere about taking me out? Or did she take me out because my mom told her to. Honestly, I don’t know how to go about this anymore. I’m just tired of people thinking that I’m a defenseless dog that needs pampering. I don’t know what I should do…

how often should you water a Garden Pothos & Money tree?

I recently got a money tree and a golden pothos from my aunt, who is moving across state lines. She has had the golden pothos for about 15 years, while the money tree is about a year and some change old. Before she gave them to me, she had watered them under the sink and told me how she has been taking care of them. She said to water the golden pothos once every 3-4 days and the money tree every morning. Since the day that she watered them, the soil has still been moist. Now I'm not sure if I should just wait until the soil for them both is completely dry. Or whether I should keep watering them with the routine she told me about. Also, both of the plots do not have drainers in them, so there's no way for extra water to be drained. So this is kind of making me stressed because she put her plants care in my hands. If anyone could give me any advice that would be amazing.

Mom going back on her promise

My aunt gave me 50 dollars for watching her dog recently. I felt really happy because those couples hours watching her dog was draining. The dog had separation anxiety so it was definitely difficult to take care of it. Mind you I have a dog of my own so technically I was taking care of two dogs. That same night, my mom comes into my room and asked for 20. I was kinda shocked because I didn’t understand why she was asking me. I don’t have a stable job despite being 22 but I am in college. she has the ability to ask her son or her husband but she’s reluctant to ask them. I’m sure she feels more comfortable asking me which is fine. But again, I don’t have a stable job so I just didn’t understand why she was asking me. Some people might say “why are you fussing over a 20” but honestly, I worked hard for that money. I don’t ask my mom for anything so to have something for myself feels good. I can spend it on whatever I want or need. I can save it for future emergencies if need. So I feel very attached to it in a sense.

I also have a beach trip coming up, which a day before my aunt gave me the 50. My mom promised she would give me 100 for the trip cost. When I refused to give my mom a 20, she went back on her promise and said I would have to figure it out in regards to the trip. Which made me feel like I was backed against a wall. Now I kinda have to give her the 20 because she possibly won’t give me the 100 like she promised. Honestly, idk what I should do and I’m not sure if I’m overreacting. But again I don’t ask for anything, I’m not a spoiled 22 year old that just sits on my but all day. I clean the house, cook dinner, look after my dog. While dealing with siblings that sometimes don’t or didn‘t pull their own weight. Which has emotionally drained me at some points.

So let me know if I’m overreacting or if I need a reality check. or if my mom is lowkey being manipulative.

Any Thai speakers in Philly?

Hi everyone, I am a 22 year old college student (female) from Philadelphia. I am currently learning Thai and have been studying using Thaipod101 and Quizlet. I'm looking for Thai speakers preferably 19+ and within the northeast region of Philadelphia. I am still a beginner, but I am committed to learning Thai because I want to travel there someday.

I'm really interested in just sparking conversation, chatting online or even making new friends. I love watching BL and I love listening to groups such as LYKN, DICE and Jasper.

I am also interested in language exchange :) so I do not mind if you're learning from me and I'm learning from you.

If anyone is interested, feel free to comment !!!

Why did Lu Feng look into the mirror like that?

can someone explain Lu Fengs mental situation at the ending of episode 11.. the way he looked into the mirror genuinely terrified me. From what I picked up, i feel like Lu Feng has some internal demons. And it wouldn’t be surprising if his mental decline was caused by the trauma he went through. But it would be lovely if someone could explain what he may be going through mentally. Because Im terrified for Yi Chen’s life is episode 1
