There will be no Sly 5

I am ragebaiting. I just realized that there won‘t be a physical copy of any possible Sly Cooper game, because of Sonys “digital only“-path. So even if it comes out or a remaster at some point, you can‘t add it to your physical collection…

The Long Dark VR | Mod Gameplay Showcase (WIP)

Hello hello everyone,

I wanted to quickly share what I have been working on for the past few weeks... a full VR mod for The Long Dark. I know, we have all been waiting long enough for a VR mod for this game. 👀 The mod is still WIP and there is no download yet, but development has been going really well and I think it is at a point now where I can finally show some of it.

The goal is to turn The Long Dark into a proper VR experience with full motion controls while keeping the original game and its mechanics intact wherever possible.

Motion controls, physical interaction with items, using both hands, looting containers, reworked UI in world space and using the normal menus with your controllers are already possible. Some items already have more specific VR controls as well, like the flashlight, lantern or even the custom physical bow system. I could list more here, but I think the short video gives a pretty good first look at most of it.

The game/UI is set to German in this recording because that is how I am currently testing the game. But it shouldn't really matter. :)

There is still enough left to do tho. Some weapons and items need more work, there are still UI and interaction things I need to improve. I don't have a release date yet. I wish I could release it immediately, but I would rather keep working on it until I am happy with the important parts.

Soo yeah... The Long Dark in VR is finally becoming a thing! :)

I will post more updates, mostly on the Flat2VR Discord.

I watched AoT for the first time without any Spoilers around 3 weeks ago

And I am very happy that I could experience it that way.

I was never into Anime, except for some classics here and there in my childhood. Of course I have heard many times how amazing Naruto, One Piece or any other Anime is. But Attack on Titan always seemed to have something that makes it a masterpiece for almost every Anime fan.

A friend of mine finally convinced me to watch Anime together, even tho he had already watched them once. Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul, Solo Leveling, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer and if I remember correctly finally Attack on Titan. I was ready. And it was the perfect route to take. I guess if I had watched AoT first, I wouldn’t have enjoyed any Anime the same way as I have now and even AoT wouldn’t have been that amazing for me if I had watched it as my first Anime.

So yeah. I love it. But I am also sad it is over. Good thing is I still got a lot of Animes to watch, even tho they aren‘t AoT :)

Would you mention it in devlogs, social media posts, progress updates, etc. or would you keep it more in the background and only disclose it where you have to (like Steam Page).

I don’t mean low effort AI slop. I mean using AI as a tool (coding, 3D models, AI music, …) while still trying to make a quality game.

Since AI is still a pretty sensitive topic in gamedev.

I saw this a few times now, that people say they get really lost in this game and just love the whole process with making and selling drugs. Time flies by.

But I was wondering, is it really mainly because of the drug and weed theme? Or is it more the whole loop around it? Like making something, improving the setup, getting more efficient and slowly building everything bigger.

It feels like the drug theme maybe pushes it to a broader audience maybe and it fits very well, of course, but maybe the satisfying part is more the process and progression itself? What do you think?

Would Schedule 1 still be fun for you if the topic was different, but the same kind of routine and progression was still there? And small Open world etc.
