Help with recent MOCA/router issue
I ran into an issue with my home Wifi today, and I've exhausted everything I know how to do.
I want to be incredibly detailed so this is a longer post. Before getting into it, though, I want to make sure to point out that nothing in my setup or system has changed - it's been running as is for a couple of years.
Anyway, I have a Deco Model W7200 routers, a total of 4. Three are in my house, one in my barn. The barn is pretty far away, around 300 feet. However, I have it and one of the house routers hooked up via GoCoax MoCa adapters. So my system is main router in the basement, satellite via just Wifi on the main floor and then a satellite in the barn and one on the third floor, hooked up via MoCA.
As mentioned, the system has performed great, with no issues. Until this morning.
I was out in my barn and noticed that the Wifi wasn't working, the Deco unit was blinking red. I came in the house and found none of the Wifi devices were working. I rebooted everything, and the house units immediately came back online.
The barn device did not, it was still blinking red. I rebooted just that device twice, it was still red and the app said it was offline. I told Deco to remove the device, then tried to reinstall it. After unplugging and plugging back in, it would never flash blue. Eventually, I did a hard reset on the tiny button on the bottom.
After that, it flashed blue but the Deco app couldn't find it. I brough the unit inside and plugged it in right next to the main unit in the basement. I went to re-add it in the app, and more issues. The device light turned green, but the app kept telling me it couldn't find a new device. I exited the app, reopened it and it listed 3 satellite devices.
So, I unplugged the barn one, took it back outside and hooked it back up via the MoCA...and it's back to blinking red and the app says it's offline.
