4 weeks off injectables and the food noise is already coming back!

14 months on Zepbound, hit my goal, doctor and then I agreed to stop. My first two weeks felt fine, by week four the food noise was back in a way I hadn't felt in over a year.

Up 4 lbs now:( not panicking but also not pretending it's not happening.

Seriously looking at Foundayo as a maintenance option. Guide me in!

Starting Foundayo tomorrow at lunch - wish me luck!!!

Starting Foundayo tomorrow and already overthinking the timing, so there's no specific time you have to take it which is great but also means I have to actually decide and stick to something.

Mornings are a disaster for me honestly. I forget everything in the morning, even my iron which I eventually just moved to night. So I'm not going to set myself up to fail by committing to mornings.

Nights are out too because of the gastric motility thing, it slows digestion and i'd rather not deal with that overnight, so I'm going to try lunch. Consistent, middle of the day, something I can actually remember!!

Opened the bottle just now to see what i was dealing with and the pill is tiny. Genuinely smaller than i expected, so that's not a worry.

Taking my first one tomorrow at lunch and will update with how day one actually goes.

Split tablet?

Hi everyone, as the title suggests, can Foundayo (orforglipron) be split? I know it’s indicated with Eli Lily but I am curious due to the different mechanism compared to semaglutide tablet.

Starting to dread taking the pill

I am on day 6 of taking the starter dose (first GLP1). The results thus far have been great, maybe a little too good for comfort (down 9lbs off 265lb starting weight).

My problem has been the waves of nausea, the frequent heartburn, and the fatigue.

After Day 2, I started taking the pill early-mid afternoon because I was noticing by 4pm I was crashing hard, so the fatigue hasn’t been a huge issue lately.

My main concern is the short bursts of intense nausea, and the frequent heartburn. I’ve been doing everything I can to lessen the impacts, but since I’m taking the pill in the afternoon now, it seems like the heartburn is just keeping me awake half the night.

Also, I don’t normally dream (at least I never remember my dreams), but the last 3 nights, I’ve had really weird and vivid dreams.

I know others have had some of these same side effects, if so, did they last past the 1st week? I’m slightly worried they’ll dissipate after a couple weeks, then I’ll bump up a dose and go through it all over again.

Wanted to share my journey with updates.

Just started Foundayo today. I’m on 5.5 mg. This it past history with GLP-1s and weight loss:

September 2023 - at my heaviest, pregnant with my youngest - 308 lbs - she was born 9/6/23

February 2024 - cholecystitis, choledocholithiasis, cholecystectomy. After the first gall stone attack, lost an additional 12 lbs after losing weight post partum from breastfeeding - 263 lbs.

December 2024 - slow weight gain back to 292 lbs. start Wegovy injections right after Christmas. Did each dose for 2 months.

October 2025 - Steadily lost weight but hit a plateau. 269 lbs. PCP tried to switch me to zepbound but insurance refused to cover it or fill it. Decided to stay with Wegovy (I was getting it for $25 a month).

January 2026 - insurance no longer covered wegovy and said that they won’t cover any glp-1s with a diagnosis of obesity. At the lowest since starting wegovy - 262 lbs.

February 2026 - finally got my pcp to prescribe Wegovy oral. Since I had been off the injections for a month, the food noise was back and I was cycling through the same 10 lbs. my pcp also wanted to start me on the lowest dose. Started on 1.5 for 30d. Back to 264 lbs.

May 2026 - back down to 262 lbs. took 4 mg of Wegovy for 30 d in March/april. Did 9mg Wegovy in April/may. Took last dose yesterday.

Today 5/18/26 - took first dose of foundayo 5.5.

I am optimistic. I work in clinical research and we do a lot of IBD studies. However we are doing a study with a similar drug to foundayo. I also spoke with our Lilly rep for awhile about it. I’ll try to do some check ins as I go. My PCP thinks I’ll find more success with this. She said she’s seen more people lose quick with Wegovy but with zepbound she has seen them have continual loss. She is also pretty sure I’ll be able to increase doses fairly easily.

I have an unrelated to obesity surgery scheduled for 6/23 so I’ll have to stop for a week prior. I think the surgery will definitely contribute to weight loss success.

My 1st week on Foundayo

I just wanted to document my 1^(st) week on my starting dose of 2.5 Foundayo.

Back story – 68/M Switched to Foundayo 2.5 for the ease of traveling internationally.

Starting weight 210lbs May 2025 – Started Zepbound (self-pay LD), reached goal weight of 150lbs January 2026 (highest dose of 7.5).  Dropped to 5.0 for maintenance and maintained current weight of 150lbs since then.

After one week I have gained 2lbs.  Food noise started to creep back on day 4 with hunger starting around noon each day.  No other side effects, although I do take stool softeners daily and drink plenty of water.  Since I started to snack more in the afternoons/evenings, I’m trying to make smart choices but I’m afraid that the salt content is catching up with me.

I go see my DR this week for a checkup and grab a new prescription for 5.5mg.

This is just my journey and not meant to be suggestions or recommendations for others.  Always keep your PCP informed.

It turns out that Wegovy Pill's "higher efficacy" was actually just a lot of super responders in the trial

In fact more than 70% of patients in the OASIS-4 trial only lost an average of 11.5% of their body weight... most people who take Wegovy Pill will not see the advertised average weight loss because the average was pulled up by these super responders...

and funny enough, the listed weight loss of the non-super responders is inline with what we see in the Foundayo trial, which was much larger and had a much more diverse patient population.

so the narrative that Wegovy is magically more effective while agonizing the same receptors has just been inadvertently killed by Novo's own data...

Foundayo Effect on Kidneys

Hello everyone, I’m new here. I’ve just been approved for Foundayo via GoodRx, but my pharmacy has to order the pills since they are new on the market. The biggest concern that I have about taking a GLP-1 is the risk of Acute Kidney Injury, or AKI. Also, I read that there aren’t enough studies yet to find out if kidney function decreases after stopping the drug (something I never would have considered). My biggest fear is ending up on dialysis simply because I wanted to lose weight and lower my A1C (I am both overweight and prediabetic). Has anyone had any adverse effects to their kidneys? Has anyone stopped Foundayo and ended up with decreased kidney function? Thanks, in advance, for your responses.

Any mood issues or body aches on starter dose?

I'm on day 11 and other than a blood pressure med interaction last week which has been solved, I'm noticing fatigue, general achiness, and some depression. I am on an SSRI already, long-term, and I super sensitive to medications, weather changes, you name it. Just have one of those bodies. Has anyone else noticed themselves feeling more down than usual?

Or achy?

EDITED to add: it seems I should be taking a glp-1 separately from an SSRI. Otherwise absorption of the antidepressant is hindered due to delayed gastric emptying from the glp-1. The aches and blues are feeling like SSRI withdrawal, so that's the light bulb moment for me. I will move foundayo to the afternoon and see what happens.

Day 29 -Friday, May 15, 2026 - 24 Pounds Lost

Please note: my weight loss is coming from the starting point of a larger person so my losses and timeframe are relative to a much higher starting point. I am under medical supervision and encourage anyone on this medicine to seek their family physician’s guidance.

Progress

Food noise at 0.8 mg continues to be suppressed but I can tell it’s time to move on to the next higher dose because I am not having any side effects and the medicine’s potency has waned a bit. I still feel mostly full but evenings have become a bit more of a challenge.

I went back to my doctor for my one month follow-up and she is quite pleased with where I’m at. I was her Foundayo test case, and I was also her first patient follow-up. We both agreed it was time for me to increase to the 2.5 mg dose.

Wins

It’s time to contemplate some wardrobe adjustments. Thankfully, I have one of those adjustable magnetic closure belts, but some of my other clothes are definitely much looser.

Goals

I plan to continue focusing on water intake, protein intake, and walking. I am also sprinkling in some resistance band work. I also plan to check in on this forum for the continued support, wisdom, and celebration of wins and help with challenges.

Thoughts

If you are reading this message and you are considering Foundayo, I suggest consulting with your family doctor who you can go to for periodic bloodwork and to reassess your dosing strategy.

As I mentioned in a previous message, I put aside fighting with insurance and did the $149 0.8 mg cash price at Costco leveraging my Costco Executive membership and Citi Costco Visa credit card reward features. With continued success, I plan to pick up the insurance fight to get them to cover it as a new drug not yet on formulary along with an associated drug tier override exception. I’m not wasting mine or my doctor’s time on that until we reassess. I realize that increasing my dose level to 2.5 mg will bump me up to the $199 retail cash price point. The financial sacrifice is well worth it for better overall health.

Shoutout to the Foundayo Family

Welcome aboard to everyone who has joined the Foundayo community recently. Reddit offers a great place for all of us to have a community working to help and support each other. I wish us all continued success on this journey.

Caveats

This drug has risks. But as my doctor explained, my comorbidities are the driving factor here. I could not handle Wegovy or Zepbound shots. I have this psychosomatic reaction where I feel like I can taste the medication in my throat as soon as I inject it. That triggers nausea that seems to last the whole week. I opted against the Wegovy pill as it is a more rigorous dosing regimen, and I was afraid to go through my intense Wegovy nausea again. Hopefully no one else experiences that. If Foundayo doesn’t work for me, I will likely reassess and reconsider the Wegovy pill in conjunction with my family doctor.

Stomach pain on first day

Has anyone experienced stomach pain on their first day? I'm on the lowest dose possible (.8mg) felt fine all day then got to 11pm and had very painful cramping, like bend over in pain, sweating, dizziness, light headed. Didn't last long, probably only 10-15min but was alarmed at the intensity. Waiting to hear back from my doc if I should just treat as an isolated incident and if it is within normal limits. Has anyone else experienced this and then gone on to have a good experience? I don't want to stop yet, but also am feeling a little wary.

One month check in

I switched from 10mg zep to 9mg Foundayo for mostly financial reasons and to give myself a break from jabs.
Here’s my one month in review.

5’4” post menopause
CW : 144 GW : 135

Pros:
•so easy taking a pill once a day vs 💉
•Definite appetite suppression
•little to no side effects (slight constipation-eased with attention to fiber & water)

Cons:
•some food noise returned from near zero on zep
•no weight loss
•too soon to tell but the positive psychological effects of zep seemed more positive if that makes sense

Pricing Question

I’ve been on Zepbound / Mounjaro for a while now, and recently had my Doctor switch me to Foundayo in hopes of saving on costs. I’ve been paying $450/mo out of pocket for 15mg Zepbound. I was under the impression that Foundayo was going to be cheaper, which was the primary reason for the switch. My doctor prescribed 14.5mg Foundayo and had it sent to Lilly Direct. The cost with the savings card is showing as $540. Is this correct?

I added my insurance info to the Lilly Direct site. Was I not supposed to do this? I thought this was going to be about $300/mo

Worried about fatigue. How has it been for you?

Hello all! A couple of months ago, I tried switching from Zepbound to the Wegovy pill. After only three doses, I had horrific fatigue. I slept for 15 hours one day while I was off work.

I really want to try Foundayo, but I am dreading the possibility of having a repeat episode with the fatigue. Out of curiosity, how has it been for everyone else?

Foundayo after Wegovy Pill

Switched to Foundayo after Wegovy for 1 month. Trying to lose about 30 lbs. Honestly main reason for the switch was the morning fast annoyed me. It may sound inconsequential but having to wait 30 min to enjoy my coffee was annoying and I’m willing to switch to get away from it.

I lost about 3lbs in one month on Wegovy, but it never really felt like it was doing much. Perhaps a bit slower digestion but still a lot of food noise. Really had to work and track calories and felt hungry a lot.

Had about a 1 week gap between stopping Wegovy and starting this.

Only on 3rd day of Foundayo and it feels way different. I constantly feel full and have no desire to eat.

Both Wegovy and Foundayo are starter dose. Anyway, one person’s experience and may be psychosomatic - who knows!?

Week 2 - slightly increased appetite

Assuming this is because my body is getting used to it? Day 10 started noticing increased appetite mid-day. Will this continue until I increase dose after 30 days?

Day 5 - hungrier than before :(

Is this normal? I’m a tired eater - one of the reasons I’m in this state is because with work and two young kids I eat my energy since I just don’t have time to sleep the way I’d like. I started Foundayo on Sunday and I’ve been even more ravenous than usual and I can’t figure out why. Maybe because it’s making me even more tired than my baseline. I’m so bummed, I was really hoping this would curb my nighttime bingeing :(.

Wegovy vs Foundayo Nausea

Hey gang, I tried the wegovy pill first and made it to the second dose (4mg) but the nausea was pretty unbearable. It wasn’t hospital bad but it was constant. 24 hours a day. I was going to give up but today my doctor suggested I try Foundayo and said perhaps it will have less nausea symptoms. Curious if anyone here has experience with this new one? And if not, how have you all dealt with the nausea (if you experienced it like i did) I followed the guidelines to a T. Always ate something after the time restriction.

Titration Rate for Maintenance?

I am switching from Mounjaro to Foundayo for maintenance since I've reached my weight and A1C goals. Does anyone have experience with how quickly I can titrate up on Foundayo considering my Mounjaro history? I was on 7.5mg my last shot and I'm now taking the 0.8mg Foundayo (starting dose).
