Transitioning to Foundayo from Zepbound

I've lost about 40 lbs on Zepbound 10mg and am finally very close to my ideal weight! I was lucky enough to get approved for the new Medicare Bridge program, so my doctor is now transitioning me to the Foundayo 0.8 mg pill.

Has anyone else made this same transition? If so, I’d love to hear your experience:

  • Dosage timeline: How long did you stay at the 0.8 mg starter level before moving up?
  • Weight changes: Did dropping from a higher-dose injectable to the lowest-dose pill cause you to gain weight, or were you able to maintain (or even continue losing)?
  • Side effects: Have you experienced any negatives or new side effects with the switch?

I'd appreciate any insights you can share. Thanks in advance!

Foundayo vs Wegovy (pill)

I’m overweight and am wanting to start a GLP. I only want a pill so it would either be Foundayo or the Wegovy pill. I know this medication is very new so the reviews and experiences are mixed, but how has your experience been on it? I’ve seen that Foundayo can have less GI side effects and can be taken with food. It looks like my insurance actually covers the medication (which is very rare for me), so that’s why I have looked at Foundayo first (unsure about the Wegovy coverage). Although I did see that research has shown Wegovy to be more effective for weight loss. Not sure which one to choose.

Diet and side effects question

Pills are on their way! I am concerned about noisy gastro side effects happening at work. The bathroom is very close to desks.

I have been a protein eater without a care for how much fat I eat for a good 10 years. More fat is always better! I don't eat much in the way of fiber (no bread and my veg is usually broccoli, when I bother). From reading posts here and on other GLP1 groups, I understand that will need to change.

I've been eating this way for so long I have no idea what should I have on my grocery list. Thoughts?

Also, can effects like diarrhea and constipation be warded off? Kind of like when the doc gives an opioid script after surgery...and says to take a stool softener? Or can side effects be controlled completely by eating/not eating certain foods?

Can the time of day the pill is taken make a difference when side effects hit? For instance, if I take it at lunch time (I don't eat lunch) might effects hold off until 5PM? LOL I understand everyone is different, but I'm hoping to find some common thread with those who have side effects.

I am encouraged by posts from those that have no side effects. And hopeful to be one of them!

Has anyone experienced increased shedding with an oral glp-1 (on oral fin and min)?

I take oral min and oral fin! Min for over three years and fin for around 2 years, have had great results GREAT results especially once i started fin..normal life with shedding here and there, baby hairs and stuff on my hair line that came back after starting fin and people said the progress would stop after a year but my hairline continues to impress me, the baby hairs getting longe and restoring over this second years!

But then I started a glp-1 pill last week, nothing big..0.8mg a day…people are gonna say its normal when you eat less, but i was already on vyvance not eating THAT much and i still feel like im eating plenty, just now healthier options!! And not even a week into this pill I am experiencing shedding i experienced in my early 20s before i started min or fin! Like run your hands through your hair and have at least a few hairs on your hand…I thought “this cant be related to the glp-1” but now i REALLY think it is….but then again its only been a week!
could it be because digestion is slower meaning the fin and min arent being digested properly? What do you think is causing this! And is anyone else experiencing this? Maybe im being crazy and this is a normal shedding period!

Anyone do better mentally on a different GLP-1 or pill version?

Hi! I was on semaglutide injections for about 3 years, and when I was at the right dose it was honestly life-changing. My food noise and body-shame thoughts quieted down, I had less water retention/inflammation, and my anxiety, depression, and OCD symptoms actually felt better.

The problem was that it became very dose-dependent for me. If I stayed at one dose too long I’d get anxious, but if I went too high I’d feel depressed. I was also mostly managing the dosing myself instead of working closely with a provider.

I’ve now been off semaglutide for about 6 months and have gained most of the weight back despite trying to maintain a calorie deficit and healthy lifestyle. I’m also on Pristiq and Zoloft, which seem to make weight management harder for me.

Has anyone had similar mental side effects on injectable semaglutide but done better on a different GLP-1, a pill version, or a specific brand? I recently signed up with Foundayo and will be working much more closely with a provider this time, but I’d love to hear what medications people found worked best for them mentally as well as physically.

Adjustment period, currently day 3

I just started on .8 this weekend and am on day 3. It is definitely helping a ton with my morning hunger already it seems like (usually within an hour after waking I’m very hungry).

I am curious about everyone’s adjustment periods, how long it took them before they felt they reached a “norm” for side effects, understanding how your body feels on the medication day to day etc. I had a mild frontal headache the last two days in the mornings and had read with some GLP-1s people have this for a week and then it tapers off as they adjust.

One thing I noticed last night was that after dinner I felt BOTH full and hungry which was kind of frustrating lol. I’m wondering if anyone had the same early on and found it tapered off quickly? Like that feeling that I can tell my stomach is full and my body doesn’t NEED more but the “top” of my stomach is giving me the hunger pangs. Loosely tracked on the weekend for protein/fiber but am using a real tracker starting today and logging all of it, to make sure diet is balanced.

Also… I already have medium-fine hair that’s not very dense, so how many of you experienced the hair loss side effect? Should I just go ahead and tack on biotin to my vitamin routine preemptively?

If you came from Zepbound for maintenance…

What was different when you switched to Foundayo? Side effects, appetite, etc.
I’m realistically about 3 months from maintenance and starting to look at this as an option at that time.
Also, what was your max zep dose and what is your Foundayo maintenance dose
Thank you!

6 days in and I gained a pound?

I completely changed the way I eat and the amount I have been eating. Incurable sugary soda, deserts and no progress.

Anyone else have this occur? It is very discouraging. I know it is early but any advice?

Day 4

I’m on day 4 of 0.8mg and WOW. No symptoms - even though I also have my period. I have lost 5.2lbs (that’s probably water weight) and I’m never hungry, if anything I make myself eat. I have never had this little food noise. Thank you for everyone on here and all your advice, I would not have started this if it was not for this community.

Minimal Loss & Starting Month 5 - 14.5

Well, good grief. I’m 5’7”, starting weight was 208. I took my first 14.5 mg pill this morning and I’m only down to 198. 10 lbs in 4 months? That’s it??

Am I counting calories? No. Have I greatly reduced my food intake? Well, I thought so! But obviously not. The good noise is gone, I’m less hungry - less cravings. And it certainly feels like I’m eating less.

But man, this is sloooow. So, having shelled out another $300 this month and getting mad at myself, I’m going to commit to calorie counting. Annoyed and frustrated.

Anyone else a slow to no responder?

Anyone have sleep or nerve changes on Foundayo?

I’m about 3 weeks in. Initially I had very vivid dreams(not bad just vivid), which went away. More recently my sleep has become really disrupted. In fairness I struggle with some level of insomnia but usually it’s waking and being awake for a couple of hours— the big difference is that now I still have that but now I am also waking multiple times and not getting any real good restorative sleep due to waking repeatedly.
I’ve also developed some strange, fleeting electrical/tingling sensations in different areas of my body. I do have a history of neuropathy related to a B1 deficiency, but some of these sensations feel different from my usual symptoms.
Anyone experience either of these a few weeks into Foundayo? If so, did they settle down while you continued taking it?

Just ordered Foundayo Uk

I used to be on Mounjaro when it first came out in 2024 and lost nearly 4 stone. I gained that 1 stone back last year after coming off due to the affordability. I had tried wegovy and mounjaro ond and off since and wasnt successful 2nd/3rd time around. Its now been 8 months since taking my last dose. I hope this works. Any advice, side effects and importantly, does it work? Thank you!!

How many people are actually vomiting?

I’ve been prescribed .8mg of foundayo for PMOS from my doc to help with regulating my weight. The problem? I’m pretty emetophobic. My doc knows and thinks I’ll be fine! She prescribed zofran for me to have on hand. I’m planning to start Monday! What I’m curious about - how many people are actually vomiting on it vs just feeling nauseous? Would love any input!

Foundayo success story

Hey, just sharing this here because I'm loving this and feeling grateful.

I've lost 15 pounds in about two months (223 to 208) and I feel great and look better. I'm 6'0, and the idea of going from 225 at my heaviest to 195 as a realistic and timely trajectory rules, guys.

It's the difference between feeling heavy, sluggish and lethargic and being excited and proud to see people in my life, having more energy, etc.

I've stuck on the 0.8 the entire time, as I'm sensitive to medication as a general rule, and I've experienced next-to-no side effects.

My appetite is lower and I get gas when I eat too much, but I'm still eating what I want––I just "want" less of it.

Anyway, sharing if anyone's considering it: I wish I did it sooner.

Foundayo anxiety

Anyone have panic attacks on Foundayo? I’ve felt creeping anxiety the last few months which I realized was when I started the pill. At .8 it was a touch of anxiety, at 2.5 it was high anxiety now on 5.5 I’m having full blown attacks. I’ve dealt with anxiety but never attacks. I read it affects the same areas of the brain that process fear and anxiety. I’ve had an irrational fear of death the last few weeks for absolutely no reason. Could be wrong but I’m almost certain it’s the Foundayo. Curious if anyone else has experienced this. ( full disclosure I’ve been on Buspar and Wellbutrin over a year for Pysch symptoms)
