I have these two agar plates i transfered and kinda forgot about lol.
Whats best to do with these? Make transfers and what to do with the rest of the plate? Put it to grain and pray it works out or what do you guys do with the rest of the plate after a transfer?
If transfer, where would you take from?
Really new to working with agar so just looking to learn as much as possible.

Hi, I’ve been getting alot of fuzzy feet on my grows. I know its because they need more fae, trying to dial that in but having a hard time not overdoing it. Feels like the humidity goes down so fast.
But the question is regarding the fuzzy part, it looks like its a ”sleeve” over the stem. Should i clean the fuzzy part off after harvesting or just let it stay?
Was thinking if that part also has any active compounds?
Just harvested some Amazonians and really happy with how they look. A bit bigger and stronger blue color than my GTs, and they look more funky, in a good way lol.

Hello, can i send this but try and discard that small blue looking piece? It has kinda gotten smaller since it got fully colonized. Tho it’s a bit liquid(?) in the jar so mabye i should just throw it?
Or give it a try and keep it away from my other boxes?

Guessing this jar is done for right? Some kinda blue colour, been looking good untill today… it doesnt look green at all but im guessing its still a no go if it looks like this?
Hi, i just harvested my first flush out of my shoebox with GT. Not that many big mushrooms, but i got about 240g wet that i had in my dehydrator for 24h on 50c.
I’d say all the thickest stems are snapping when i break them so i’m pretty sure they’re dry enough.
Came out to 31g when dried, all i read is that it should be about 10% of the wet weight when done drying, but mine came out to about 12,9%.
Should i be worried its not dry enough?

Hello, i have 6 jars that i started on 31/5. Two of them have gotten some kind of contam, prob trich.
Am just curious if that ususally pops up while its in the grain or if i should get ready for all of them having some kind of bacteria?
I did b&s on two of them, one looked funky a day or two after, the other looks kinda good but also not as good as the others i didnt b&s. And the other contaminated got a green spot growing.
Do i need to be careful emptying the jars, like should i do it outside of my appartment or is that not necessary?

Hello, im just looking for some guidance regarding if i should pick the big ones, the veil is starting to come off, or if i should just let them all ride mabye 1-3 more days?
Dont really mind if it drops spores, but feel like the big ones are like 2-3 days ahead the rest of them.

Hello, i’m using a unmodified shoebox, guessing a monotub would be a better choice. But is there anything special you do to get a better and fuller pinset?
As you can see i have mostly some mushrooms forming at the edges, what could be the reason for that?
Surface condition or genetics playing the bigger role?

Hello, got this jar with amazonian that i inoculated 13/4 from a spore syringe.
Been slowing down last week or two, its a 1000ml jar so quite big.
I feel like the myc is looking so damn thick? Just spawned another from the same syringe, smaller jar so colonized faster, and i havent done any b&s.
Is this looking alright? Felt the myc on the other jar was kinda different in consistency comparing to my GT i spawned on. 23/5.
Looking for any tips or guidance, just wanna learn and get better. 🫡

Hi. Should i start introducing more fae? Its in a shoebox so technically it has been in fc since start i guess? And i’ve cracked it open like two times to check on the growth.
Should i start misting and mabye turn the lid upside down? Been colonized like this for a day or three.

Hello, its just my second grow and i just read some about using coir with no nutrients.
Just put one jar s2b couple days ago and noticed today that my coir has some nutrients.
I’ve used this one before but curious if i should try and get some other brand? I looked at the website and they havent added anything extra from what i could see its just the ”natural” nutrients from the coco coir.

Just put some grains to bulk couple days ago and just read that some coco coir could contain trich since its good for plants i guess? Am wondering if these are bad for mushroom cultivation? Just put one of my jars in this and i am just curious if i should get some other coco coir for next batch?

Question 2: what do you do with the rest of the plate? Do i just send it to grain and hope for the best or just discard of it?
Really new to this process with agar, am making my own plates hopefully this week, have a couple premade ones left i can use but they’re running out lol.
Ps. The first pic was a mushroom from another plate that i transfered and the second is a transfer from the same plate but a different genetic(?) since it had like 4 different growing points.
