Strap for Long Gigs

I'm not getting any younger (is anyone?). These long 6- to 8-hour practices and gigs are taking a toll on my back. Maybe I should take up the mandolin? But seriously, has anyone found a great strap that relieves some of the strain? I've seen the ads and claims; but this group has the best advice...

LaBella Strings?

I've been using Dunlop Nickle round wound & Rotosound RS66 strings and wonder if LaBella strings, for almost twice the price, are worth trying? I'm always open to improving the playing experience & sound.

Thoughts on MXR Bass Synth Pedal?

The videos on the MXR Bass Synth Pedal are amazing. I'm thinking of adding to my growing pedal arrangement, which includes an Aguilar Tone Hammer, Big Muff Electro-Harmonix, and a Donner Ultimate Comp (and a tuner). Can it be as amazing as the videos show in real life?

Flying with your gear?

How do you bring your bass, pedals, etc with you when you fly to play at a destination? I have a well-padded, soft-sided flight case from Reunion Blues that has survived several baggage handlers. It's big, heavy, and a real pain to drag around to hotels, practice studios & gig spots, and I wonder if others have been able to carry their bass on board with them. I've seen guitars stuffed into a closet, but not all planes have them; basses are much bigger, and what do you do if there's no room on board?

As for pedal boards, do you carry them on or check them?

In some cases, I've avoided this challenge & just rented local gear, but that's way too risky for many reasons & I don't want to rent all the time.

Flats or Rounds?

What do you prefer to use as your primary, go-to strings, flat or round wounds, and why? What bass do you use them on?

These have been my go-to And I’m debating switching to flats.

Setting up my Aguilar Tone Hammer

There is an old thread on this - perhaps there are more users who have figured this out?

This was a highly recommended pedal, & I'm would love to know how users are setting it up and how they are using it. Do you set it and forget it, using it as an always-on pedal?

My new bass!

I just added this sweet Marcus Miller P10 to my growing list of string instruments (new guitar on the way, too!). It's rapidly become my go-to bass. What's the consensus of this group?
