Not Ideal For Man Trans

I got in this mess on the interstate on my way home last night. Was completely stopped, engine off for about an hour, but when traffic started moving it was going so slow it was too consistently slow for even first gear lol so I had to keep shifting to neutral, then almost immediately back into first. Definitely a situation I don’t like a man trans for. Can’t be great for clutch life.

Tire Rotation w/o Jack Stands

I did my first tire rotation recently without the use of jack stands. I planned on using jack stands but I didn't know the jacking points on the car other than the 4 on the sides, and if you jack up from that point there's not enough room left to get the jack stands in place. So I jacked up in the front, behind the front wheel, just high enough until the back tire was off the ground, moved front tire to rear, and rear to front, then moved to the other side and repeated. I did not feel like it was a safety concern or anything since I wasn't getting under the car, but was it bad for my car? I would have hoped for a jacking point in the center but there is not one, so did jacking from the front place too much stress on the car?

Is this Off my Car?

I did my first oil change yesterday after getting my VB WRX about 4k miles ago. It went very smooth once I got the over torqued drain plug loose 🙄. After finishing and lowering my car and picking up tools and stuff I found this rubber thing on the ground under the front of the car. I don’t think it’s off the wrx but maybe it is?? Anyone know?

Revel El Jefe as Gravel Bike?

I'll start with a bit of embarrassing honesty. I want an El Jefe because my name is Jeff. I also have always wanted a Ti bike, but I kind of satisfied that itch when I got my Pipedream Sirius Ti last year. I don't really need another hard tail mtb, but I do want a gravel bike, and since I so badly want an El Jefe, I've been starting to wonder how that would be as a gravel bike for me. I know I'll be limited in my gearing but I mostly think that will be ok, as I won't spin out until over 25mph with 36x10 (max chain ring is 36t per Revel). Other than that what limitations will I have? I kind of think if I go this route I may end up still "needing" a gravel bike eventually lol.

After some internet sleuthing I learned the tires on my 22 VB are “budget friendly all season” tires. What does one gain by running “summer” tires? Not in the track, just every day driving.

My son and I drove to Prescott for the Whiskey Off Road xc race this past weekend. I was entered in SS category and finished 29 out of 33 entrants in the 25 mile race 😆.
