Best super automatic machine for busy parents

I just found this sub today and it has been so helpful! Thank you so much! I was hoping we could get a few opinions on the best machine for our particular situation.

We like good coffee. We have a Virtuoso grinder and do pour over every morning. But we are on kid #2 and are TIRED and BUSY. We are having our regular coffee, then going out for lattes and that's not the best habit. We want to have a way to have a quick latte after our first cup of coffee in the morning, but chasing two kids around means I don't have time to do much. I'm not THAT concerned with the quality of the espresso. A Nespresso machine would honestly probably be fine, but we hate the pods and I want freshly ground beans. So I think a super automatic would be perfect.

The Cafe Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine seemed perfect, but they're discontinuing it so that makes me nervous to buy it.

So what machine would be best for:

-A family looking for convenience, who doesn't care TOO much about quality of the espresso

-If I want there to be a milk steamer, but not one where I pour the milk in. I want to steam the milk myself. (And I don't want to clean milk out of a machine)

-If I want to spend around $500 (would go up to 1K for the right machine)

Feels like maybe the DeLonghi Magnifica Evo fits the bill, but if there's an even simpler machine I'm all ears. And if the answer is: lady, just get a Nespresso, I'm open to hearing that.

Thank you so much!!

Edit: I pulled the trigger on the delonghi magnifico evo! I’ll update with how it goes with kids after a few weeks, in case any other parents are ever curious how it fits into the morning routine. Thanks everyone!

13mo CIO - falls and stays asleep sitting up, please help!

Hello-

My 13mo son wakes at 6, naps (more or less) from 11-1, then goes down at 7pm. He has been a terrible sleeper. We sleep trained him at 6 months but he got sick around 11 months and we were back at square one. I have posted here several times and this sub has been immensely helpful.

We did CIO again two nights ago, and the last two nights, he has fallen asleep in less than 15 minutes, fully deep asleep, sitting up. I don't think he knows how to go from standing in his crib to his back (he doesn't seem to want to sleep on his stomach). Eventually, both nights, my husband went in and gently laid him down- he didn't wake. I think part of his sleep problem is that he can't get back down on his own.

The first night, he woke up twice in the night crying and last night he woke up three times. Previously, I would pick him up and rock him back to sleep in the night (he has not been eating at night for months). The last two nights I went in and just put my hand on his chest in the crib.

My questions are:

  1. What do we do about the falling asleep sitting up? Just let him stay that way? Is laying him down ok or defeating the purpose of CIO? Are there any exercises we should be doing to show him how to lie down? Help?

  2. After CIO, what do I do about these night wakes? How do I handle? Should we just try full extinction?

Thank you so much! We are so tired that we're worried for our health and safety. I am not being the best mom I can be during the day because I am so tired, so if anyone has suggestions, including extinction, I will take them at this point. Or if anyone's child just magically started sleeping at 14 months I'd love to hear that too, LOL. Thank you!

Schedule help before training 13 month old

I trained my baby at five months to fall asleep independently (cio). he still woke to eat and I weaned him at ten months, and then he slept through. it was great!

he is now just thirteen months. he got sick three weeks ago and needed a little help in the middle of the night. now everything is gone to shit. also, we dropped down to one nap because he would not take the second no matter what. now we wake at 6am, nap from 11am-1pm usually, bedtime routine begins at 6:30, asleep at 7pm.

but he won’t go down independently anymore and wakes 2-4 times every night.

I would so so appreciate feedback on my schedule before I try to sleep train again. he will stand in his crib and wail now, so I’m anticipating it will be terrible. thank you so much!!

Pride Merch?

Does anyone know if they're going to release new pride merch? I can't remember when they dropped it last year, but I was hoping to see some fun stuff this year! Feels like it's getting late...
