Urgent Humanitarian Appeal – Help Our Family With Medical Expenses After the Loss of My Mother

I am reaching out to you with a heartbreaking and urgent request for humanitarian and financial assistance following the tragic loss of my mother, Mrs. Chhaya Trivedi.

My mother had travelled from India to Canada to visit me and spend time with our family. What was supposed to be a joyful family visit turned into an unimaginable tragedy when she suddenly suffered a massive brain aneurysm and haemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Despite the doctors’ best efforts and intensive treatment, my mother sadly could not survive the haemorrhage and passed away on September 17, 2026.

Our family is now facing not only the devastating emotional loss of my mother, but also an enormous and unexpected financial burden.

My mother was visiting Canada and did not have medical insurance to cover this emergency. Because of the severity of her condition, she required emergency hospitalization, intensive care, neurological treatment, life support, multiple investigations and procedures, and several days of critical medical care.

We are still in the process of receiving and finalizing all hospital and medical invoices, but we have been advised that the total medical expenses could potentially be approximately CAD $200,000–$300,000 or even more, depending on the final billing.

As an international student living in Canada, I simply do not have the financial ability to absorb expenses of this magnitude. Our family is now desperately trying to cope with the loss of my mother while simultaneously trying to understand how we can manage the medical debt and the expenses associated with bringing her home and completing the necessary arrangements.

We have established a GoFundMe fundraiser to seek help from our community:

GoFundMe:

The original fundraiser was created while we were desperately trying to save my mother’s life. Sadly, she has now passed away, and we are continuing to raise funds to help our family deal with the substantial medical expenses resulting from her final hospitalization, as well as the associated emergency and funeral-related costs.

I am humbly asking whether your organization may be able to provide emergency financial assistance, charitable funding, medical debt relief, bereavement assistance, fundraising support, or any other form of humanitarian assistance to our family.

If direct financial assistance is not possible, we would be incredibly grateful if you could:

Connect us with charitable organizations or foundations that assist families with catastrophic medical expenses;
Help us identify programs that may provide assistance with uninsured hospital bills;
Share our fundraiser with your charitable or community network;
Connect us with donors or organizations that support families facing sudden bereavement and financial hardship; or
Guide us toward any available medical-debt relief or financial assistance programs.

We are willing to provide hospital records, medical documentation, invoices, proof of expenses, identification, immigration documentation, the death certificate, and any other supporting documents required to verify our circumstances.

This is an incredibly difficult time for our family. We never imagined that my mother would come to Canada to visit her child and that within weeks we would be arranging her funeral and facing potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses.

We are not asking for sympathy alone. We are asking for help in finding a way through a financial burden that our family could never have anticipated or prepared for.

Any financial assistance, referral, fundraising support, or even sharing our story with someone who may be able to help would mean more to our family than we can express.

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read our appeal and for considering helping our family during this devastating period.

With deepest gratitude,

Rutva Trivedi
St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada
On behalf of the Trivedi family

More gems from the periyarist run r/tambrahm community

  1. Calling them periyarist is name calling, but their own members deride vedic mahans

  2. The sub is blatantly promoting the persecution of genuine vaidikas. Periyarists say yhat brahmin women need to be targeted and married coyly by cheating and claiming yourself as brahmins.

I have attached screenshots where some people in the subreddit are talking about this , but calling them periyarist leads to bans.

Before anybody even looks at that sub, remember where you're stepping into

  1. The users of those subreddits claim themselves as brahmins, have iyer as flair and surnames, claim themselves to be Brahmins but want brahamana dharma eradicated.

Be wary. We have started a genuine sub for r/tamil_brahmins, please join there rather than being cheated by periyarists.
