Where did Ultimate Universe fail compared to the Absolute series?

I finished the Ultimates run and except for Ultimate Spider-Man, the rest of the universe just did not hit. But, the Absolute runs every issue is a banger.

I didn’t have much interest in this one, but man am I glad I got it.

My wife got this one on Free Comic Book Day, mostly for the nostalgia. We both thought oh this will be kinda cool, but, the next day she read it and was blown away how good it was. I gave it a read and man on Wednesday I immensely added it to my pull list.
