How to endure being single?

How can I endure being single when all of my friends managed to meet the right guy that significantly improved their lifes?

I tried meeting people but it is not working out for me and it is creating this envy in my heart. In addition, it is really hard to be the only one single and without kids in the friend group. Those changes in their lifes left me kind of alone.

He only wanted me for sex and that made me feel ugly

I (29F) was talking to a guy I met on dating apps who very quickly made it clear that he only wanted sex from me. During our conversations, he said three times that I shouldn’t expect any kind of commitment from him. That bothered me a little because why would being in a relationship with me be such a bad idea that he had to emphasize it so many times?

He also talked quite a lot about his fetishes and sexual history, which bothered me as well because, in my opinion, that’s the kind of thing you talk about with your friends over a beer while bragging, not with a girl you’re trying to date. Even though I found him attractive, I still turned down that kind of relationship with him because I want to find something more meaningful.

What confused me even more was that he said I was his type, and I know one of his exes who looks physically similar to me, so I don’t think my appearance was the problem. In general, I also don’t think I give off the impression of being a girl who is only good for something casual.

Less than two months later, I ran into him in town. I looked at him in that way you do when you’re surprised to see someone and expect them to at least say hello. Afterwards, he messaged me saying that he was now in a relationship, which was why he didn’t feel the need to interact with me.

I have to admit that this affected me more than it probably should have. I’m trying to go on dates, but I’ve already been single for quite some time because I haven’t found anyone who is right for me. Meanwhile, someone like him, who showed quite a few red flags, can seemingly enter a relationship without any problem.

I can't get him out of my mind

I talked to a man for about a month whom I met on a dating app. He only wanted a sexual relationship, and he displayed quite a lot of red-flag behavior and seemed promiscuous.

Even though I was physically attracted to him, I ultimately turned him down because I was afraid that someone like that could potentially put my health at risk. Two months after we stopped talking, I ran into him in the city and decided to message him, but he told me that he had a girlfriend and threatened me, saying that I had to pretend I didn’t know him if he was with her.

For some reason, I keep thinking about what she has that I don’t. Does this seem like he was trying to cheat on her, considering that he was on a dating app, constantly emphasized that he only wanted something casual (which seems strange for a single man in his 30s), and only wanted to meet at night?

Although I’m glad I didn’t meet up with him, I’m still embarrassed to admit that I can’t get someone like that out of my head, someone who used cheap manipulation tactics to get into my subconscious through his messages.

I've developed an unhealthy obsession with a guy

I was talking to a guy (we're both 29), and it became clear that his intentions with me were purely sexual. Even though I liked him and found him very attractive, I decided not to meet up with him because that kind of relationship isn't what I'm looking for.

Looking back, I realize he probably used tactics like love bombing, hot-and-cold behavior, ghosting, and similar manipulative patterns, which is likely why he got so stuck in my head.

Two months later, I found out that he's now in a relationship, and that's when my obsession started. I keep wondering why he offered her something he never offered me. I constantly think about who this girl is, what she looks like, what she has that I don't, and how they spend their time together. I catch myself imagining scenarios where I'll run into them around town, and it's becoming genuinely unhealthy for me.

How do I get him out of my head?

I admit this situation has affected me more than it probably should have because he's the first person I've genuinely liked since my breakup six months ago.

He wanted only sex and now he is in a relationship

I was talking to a guy (both 29) for about a month, and from the very beginning he made it clear that he was only looking for something sexual. Because of various circumstances, we never managed to meet, and in the end I told him that I didn't want that kind of relationship.

About two months later, I found out that he's now in a relationship.

That really hurt me because the only thing he wanted from me was sex. While we were talking, he behaved in ways that made him seem completely unsuitable for a relationship. For example, he ghosted me and then came back, talked about his sexual fetishes and other people he had been with, and even looked down on vanilla relationships. So now I'm wondering how he ended up in a relationship at all.

I know I shouldn't even like someone like that, but dating has been really difficult for me, and someone like him found a partner so quickly. It makes me feel like there's something wrong with me or that I'm somehow not enough.

Bruise above my right breast

I am 29 f and I have this bruise looking mark above my right boob for about two weeks. The panic started to set in yesterday when I realised that it is not going away.

I am seeing a doctor on 30th but it is nightmare to wait until then. I am so worried if it is something and I have to tell my mum.

Feeling extra guilty since I recently started to smoke occasionally which I already quit yesterday.

My choice of college major ruined my life.

I’m a 29-year-old woman from Europe. Choosing a degree in Communications and Public Relations was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I look at people my age earning good salaries and building careers at reputable companies, while I’m working in customer support with very few prospects for growth.

I grew up in poverty, and instead of improving my situation, this degree feels like it made things even harder. I feel like I wasted years on an education that offered little return and left me with limited career options. Watching others move ahead while I struggle has filled me with regret and frustration.

Going to his house too soon

A few days ago, I (late 20s) agreed to go on a second date with a guy at his house so we could watch a movie. At one point, things escalated in a sexual way, but I stopped it after a few minutes because I realized I didn't feel that kind of attraction on my side.

He was respectful about it, and later I told him that I didn't want to continue seeing each other. Now I feel terrible about the whole situation and about the fact that I agreed to go to his house so early on.
