Well if you're willing to deal with the worst people in the country, there is likely some kind of campaign/political job near you. They pay (relatively) well, but have grueling hours and insufferable people. But if its between that and being homeless, it definitely beats being homeless.
Google Democrat Jobs or Republican Jobs and you will likely see links to some of the political job clearing houses. Go for it. Many of these jobs are not advertised on Indeed etc etc.
