Good Day to you!! Isn't it odd/funny when they say this in anger in period films/shows?

I hear/see this so often in these kinds of movies and shows and it just strikes me as so funny how polite they were even when they were angry with one another. Does this make anyone else laugh? Should we popularize this?? Maybe it can transform society!

A Recommendation - List the Things You Have Manifested Unconsciously

Since I began to read Goddard's work, I've been realizing how many things in my life I have manifested in the past long before I delved deeply into this subject. I feel that being aware of this helps me to be more aware of my power and how I'm now using it.

These are things I wanted to happen but didn't have a plan for them and didn't know it would naturally come about. All of them came about naturally - maybe not in the way I had hoped but they happened and I was able to experience them none the less.

  1. Homeschooling my child - I always wanted to but never felt I'd have the opportunity to until circumstances presented themselves to make this option one that his dad would agree to.
  2. Live in a foreign country - I always felt this was something I wanted to do and would enjoy/should do and circumstances unfolded to make this option feel like it was well supported. This was really unique because again, my son's father was not very likely to agree to it and I would never have even proposed it had circumstances not led to this being a clearly good option for our son.
  3. Working in a Creative Field - Film particularly - I remember being stuck in the 9-5 grind and realizing that in order to break out of it and find another field - a more creative one - that suited me better - I would have to work part time and begin to find other people whose hours were not confined to the 9-5 world. I ended up leaving my job for other reasons and when I found work again, it was only part time at the beginning. I ended up at a party and met some people who just happened to be in creative fields. We got along well and was invited to more gatherings and met others and eventually was asked to help with a film project - voila!
  4. Having a child - doctors said it was very unlikely and so I didn't make this a priority and yet I had always assumed I'd have children - I wanted them for sure. I accepted that I wouldn't likely have them. When I started dating the man I ended up having a child with - I made it clear to him that it was unlikely I could have children just to let him know and he said it wasn't a priority for him. I ended up pregnant and he was overjoyed - I was in shock and then overjoyed. 😉

There are more - I remember reminiscing about being in Europe and feeling I wanted to go there again. A few years later, I was there with my mom on a trip she suggested and paid for. This was not something that I anticipated at all - especially given her age etc.

Look for the things you have manifested/created in your life and use that as fuel to intentionally move forward in your life in the direction you choose.

Parallels with Downton Abbey

This is speculation and a discussion but I had to add a spoiler tag because in enumerating the parallels between these shows, I will be sharing some of the storyline. So, since some of the same people are behind this show - not sure of the writers etc because I haven't looked this up but there are so many similarities, jokes etc. I'm not against this, I just find it interesting.

The hard and traditional matrons Agnes and Violet - similar in that they are both obstinate and this is humorous most of the time although difficult for other characters.

The good guy footman who becomes a success - although this happened more quickly in GA than it did in DA. In DA, it was the housemaid who became a secretary then went onto bigger things.

The upper most staff members of a house becoming romantically involved - although with GA it was the cook and housekeeper instead of the butler and housekeeper.

Borden (Russell's chef) having problems with his estranged wife threatening to expose secrets (his - not the family's) until she dies - similar to Bates.

The footman who threatens to pour soup on an important guest - it was a high ranking military officer in DA and the Duke in GA but they were both stopped at the last moment.

There are gay figures who have to hide their true nature although this time it's upstairs rather than downstairs. This isn't as big of a parallel. I like that they explore this in many period shows because it is important to reveal how things might have been for people who had to deal with this in society back then.

Jokes - one at least about King Cnut in GA and a couple in DA I think. Also the "I'm going up to change" and response "I think you'll come down without having changed at all" joke in both shows.

There must be more. If you have any more parallels, please share in the comments!

I just thought I would put this out there as a recommendation. It's a very unique movie and touches on spiritual topics but in a fun way. It's light hearted but tells a lovely if quirky story.

It was such a pleasure to be so close to this guy. He climbed down the tree in front of me and pretty much posed for this shot. Don't you love the natural hair comb over?
