We are currently experiencing extremely high temperatures where i live (in comparison to what we’re use), and on top of that we had quite a big thunderstorm, so lots of loud noises, hot and humid weather.
Our almost one year old persian kitten started panting on off during the night, we thought it was because of the heat, so we did everything to try and cool down the room, but he just continued to pant randomly(but otherwise seemed fine he ate and drank, though he did seem to have a little trouble calming down). We ended up taking him to the emergency vet in the morning. He ended up staying there for 10 hours.
They supervised him, and ended up giving him some sedative medicin. They checked everything blood, heart etc. and found nothing. They said he stopped panting after he was giving the medication, and they wasn’t worried about sending him home. They concluded that he most likely was stressing because of the thunder and heat. We took him home and were advised to give him some more medicin (which we did). He then ate some food and cleaned himself. But he started to pant a bit again shortly after, and we really don’t know what to do and even aften all the vet told we are still concerned. His panting seem quite random, he can be fine for while and then he pants for like a few seconds.
What can we do to help him, is this normal behavior?
FYI He has quite small nostiles and is scheduled to get a BOAS soon.

We are currently building a new table for a outdoor lounge and was recommended in the store to use a wood perservant with permethrin (we didn’t know that it contained it, and noticed after applying it to the table), so know we are kinda freaking out.
The plan is to paint the table so that might seal it a bit? but we’re still concerned about the cats somehow coming in contact with the table or us spreading it when using it.
We’re considering sanding down the table and treat it with something different.
Some people online says it’s fine once it’s dried, but is that true? And when it rain and table gets wet will the permethrin reactivate? How big are the chances it will poison my cats?
