The Na'vi say that our characters have "the mark," but I don't know what that mark even is. Only possible conclusions I could come up with is either the bioluminescent patterns, or just the patterns on the Na'vi in general. Even if I'm right, it still confuses me.

I was under the impression they were natural, like Ahsoka's markings.
