Messing around with reshade and like this is what I wished the Parafolks actually looked like👀 I still need to tweak my shadows I think but at least I don't hate looking at them anymore🤔 😅
Maybe it wasn't the "tooniness" that bugged me afterall.

This is a community for people who are already living the housewife lifestyle; those actively managing homes, families, and the rhythms of domestic life. This space exists to offer support, connection, and encouragement among those who share that experience.
If you’re looking for advice on how to become a housewife, or for places to meet partners who want housewives, this isn’t the right subreddit for that.
We’re not here to provide guides or recruitment-style content for “wannabes.” This space is primarily for those already walking the path, not those exploring it from the outside.
You are welcome to browse or even participate meaningfully in discussions, as long as you understand and respect the purpose of this community.
Please help keep this space supportive, grounded, and focused on real lived experience.
I turned Sulani into an airport just because I thought it would look great. It has absolutely no function, but how cool would it be if we actually had one that did?
It feels like they’re lowkey chiding us for pointing out the noticeable lack of Pride celebration but maybe I’m reading it wrong. Like, yes, we know the fight for acceptance and inclusivity is year-round, but that doesn’t erase the fact that they hadn’t done anything until now. And it only came after many, me included, commented on the absence of anything Pride-related.
Because it seems like a weird thing to randomly bring up now, could it be because they’ve been quiet all Pride Month and didn’t acknowledge Juneteenth? It feels laughable to believe their message when their recent actions haven’t matched. And sure, you can say all corporate support for Pride and inclusivity is performative (that’s true) but it's still unusual, especially given what The Sims has always portrayed itself to be. Curious.
I converted one of my Paralives builds to The Sims and decided to bring Juni across universes too, which made me realize how much I’ve missed playing (I’ve been in Paralives build mode for a while, which was honestly my main draw to the game). The Paras just aren’t easy on the eyes. I think it’s how they look; I can’t stand it, or maybe I’m just not great at making them yet, especially since I find the sliders annoying. just can’t get used to their look; to me, they even seem out of place in their environment, and I’m not sure to explain it.
ETA: a word
Also, I guess the backlash got to him, so he's decided to reduce the paywall for the mod. But the thing that doesn't sit right with me is on his discord he said he was putting the pay wall proportional to how much effort it took and admittedly I don't mod but if you could make it within hours of a games release I just can't think it took such a herculean effort it required a month long paywall. SMH.
Anyway, thanks to ARRO there's a free now Sims 3 camera mod and it works great. Now I can stop yeeting myself halfway across the screen when I'm trying to rotate the camera 😭
This game is truly one for the builders, and most of the enjoyment lies in that. The Paramaker is both freeing and limited, sliders can be finicky, and I’m not a fan of the default blush, which requires a convoluted process to remove instead of a simple toggle. Still, I managed to make a Para I didn’t hate, and I was tickled by the fact that shoes affect their height (Paras are shorter without them).
I also really like the “arrive by train” aspect that takes you into the world. A lot of settings — almost MCC-like — are integrated, such as custom pregnancy lengths, labor duration, and world time duration. Being able to customize those is a huge bonus, since I always thought the Sims clock ran too fast.
Build mode has a small learning curve, but it’s not too bad. I absolutely love the customization: dragging and resizing, flipping orientation, raising/lowering objects with Shift, free rotate built-in, and disabling grid snapping. Just make sure your lot is level before placing stairs, or you’ll end up like me, spending hours only to bulldoze everything because the front door was inaccessible. Anyway, that’s where most of my time went.
The actual gameplay, however, is lackluster and buggy, even for an EA game. It feels like many of the same issues that were present before the last delay are still here. If this is the state they felt confident releasing, I shudder to think what it looked like back when they chose to delay it.
Right away, I ran into awful bugs: my Para couldn’t do anything after leaving build mode because her feet glitched into the terrain, forcing me back to the main menu. Later I noticed an “unstuck” option in settings, which I assume is meant for moments like that. Autonomy also means very little; Paras don’t really do anything without direct input.
Visiting the restaurant was frustrating. It’s labeled as one, but there’s no service Sim, no food to order, and Paras just wander in off the street. The whole thing feels flat, as NPCs don’t seem to interact with each other. Conversations are odd too, no speaking animations, just Paras standing around while a bar fills up until an exclamation mark pops up with cards for you to steer the dialogue.
I was also disappointed by the bus feature. They said you could ride it, but it’s just a loading screen. Even if they didn’t animate the whole ride, I expected at least to see my Para board the bus before the transition.
All this said, I do see the potential. But trust me you’re not missing out if you wait for a few updates. In its current state, the game is absolutely overpriced and not worth $40.
When it comes to picking a place for your sims to live are you picking a modern home or going for traditional. Both these lots are in my gallery as "Modern Madness Redux" and " Hever Cottage" CC free and play tested! ID: manicpot8to
Because no lies detected 😂😭
So I made this no CC sim and decided to share her with the community. Most people were really complimentary, but this dude decided to throw out the same tired stereotype that’s constantly used to demean Black women by calling her “an ugly dude.”
And when I didn’t take the bait and get angry, it suddenly became “just a joke.”
And yeah, I know some people are gonna say “it’s just a sim, who cares?” but I think that misses the broader issue. It’s the insidious microaggressions hiding behind “dark humor” and “jokes.” How many times have Black women had “you look masculine” weaponized against them? So, when someone deliberately misgenders a clearly feminine Black sim, I recognized the pattern immediately.
Honestly, maybe I’m just getting old and crotchety, but I miss when the Sims community felt more welcoming and genuinely excited about diversity instead of increasingly hostile toward it.
Here’s hoping the Paralives community doesn’t end up going down the same road.
Sometimes I forget to leave my lot, so I created an open neighborhood where my Sims can go out on the town without dealing with the hassle of a loading screen. Now they get to have a social life instead of being stuck on their home lot. Lol, I don’t even have lag, I’m just too lazy to use the phone to travel.
It features:
I use the Kuttoes NPC Everywhere mod, which keeps all the shared spaces staffed. I haven’t managed to get the bubble tea station staffed, so I pretend my sim runs it. Similarly, the thrift store isn’t functional, but it’s perfect for taking pictures.
