Period Twice a Month

Hi Everyone! I experienced something that has never happened to me before; I got my period twice this month, a week apart. My first period ended on the 9th of August and my second started on the 17th. Is this normal or common? My period tracker says that I’m supposed to be ovulating for the next few days that’s why I was quite confused. I haven’t changed any major parts of my daily routine either, so I’m not sure what triggered this. Has this happened to anyone before as I’m a little concerned.

Cognitive Science graduates- what did you do after your degree?

Hi everyone! I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Australia and graduate next year. I’m starting to think seriously about what I want to do afterwards, but I’m honestly feeling a little lost with how broad the degree is.

I’m currently completing a practical unit where I’m part of a research team in the linguistics department, so I’m getting some hands-on research experience. I’m interested in exploring UX/UX research, but I’m confused about what the typical pathway into the field looks like and whether further study is necessary. I’m also not sure whether I’ll actually want a research-heavy career long-term, so I’d love to know what other careers people with cognitive science backgrounds have gone into. I enjoy working with people and would eventually like to do a Master’s, but I don’t want to commit to one until I have a clearer direction.

If you studied cognitive science/psychology/neuroscience or something similar, what did you end up doing? What entry-level roles should I be looking at, and did you pursue any further study?
Would especially love to hear from anyone in Australia. Any advice would be really appreciated :)

[AUS]Feeling lost about my pathway to Neuropsychology

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help because I’m honestly so confused about my pathway.

I’m currently doing a Bachelor of Cognitive and Brain Sciences at Macquarie and graduate next year. When I started straight out of high school, I was really interested in neuroscience and thought I wanted to go into medicine. During my degree, I discovered neuropsychology and realised that’s what I actually want to pursue, so I switched my major to Psychological Sciences and completed most of the psychology units in the APAC sequence.(I’m missing around 5 units)

I always assumed I’d be able to apply for psychology honours after graduating, but I’ve recently found out that because my overall degree isn’t APAC-accredited, I’m not eligible for honours even though I’ve completed the psychology units. Now I’m really confused about what my options are. Do I need to do a bridging course or Graduate Diploma? Is there any way my completed psychology units can count towards an APAC-accredited pathway, or do I basically have to start over?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows what the best pathway would be? I’d really appreciate any advice!

Got Honked it, it was my fault and I feel terrible

I was making a right turn at an intersection with traffic coming from both directions. There was a queue, and as soon as it was finally my turn, the car behind me honked because I didn’t go immediately. I couldn’t just go because there wasn’t a safe gap yet, but that honk made me feel really pressured.I ended up taking a gap that I thought would be okay, but the second I turned, I knew I’d made a bad call. The car I turned in front of had to stop and laid on their horn for a good five seconds, and then the guy behind me who’d originally honked started honking too. I feel absolutely terrible and like a complete idiot. I’ve been driving for a year, and this was such a stupid mistake to make. I’ve been thinking about it all day and I can’t stop beating myself up over it.
