I’m looking for a machine screw which I’d think was made of unobtanium but for the fact I have the part number from multiple sources. Of course, they’re in 1000-piece boxes from US suppliers. I need two screws.

I’ll be checking out Whitecap/Brafasco and Fastenal, of course, but they don’t show it online. Even Pacific Fasteners doesn’t have it in their catalogue. (Quick shoutout for their excellent catalogue format!)

At this point, I think I’m kvetching, but let me know if you have a source for all things hardware - or just fasteners - that I should check out.

There were at least 6-12 police cars and a number of bicycle cops roaming around the parking area midday, clearly searching for someone.

(Not to mention chit-chatting with each other while blocking the main traffic lanes through the parking lot.)

What was that all about? Did they find whomever they were looking for?

COB is closed on weekends.

I wondered about this dilemma with car dealers 40-50 years ago and still don’t get it.

Why is a store closed on the days its customers are most likely going to be shopping?
