“Hub Group Home Depot Flatbed (California) - $23/hr + $0.54 CPM worth it or not?”

I’m currently gaining my first year of CDL experience at Ecology Auto Parts doing flatbed work (car bodies to recycling yards). I’m considering a job change and would appreciate honest feedback.

Current job overview:

Paid per load (~$55 per trip)

3–4 trips per day depending on volume

Weekly pay usually around $900–$1,000 or less

Saturdays required but low pay (~$100 or less)

Higher paying loads ($135) are rare

Manual logs and additional paperwork required after routes

Overall pay structure feels limited compared to workload

I’m mainly finishing my first year of experience here, but I’m now considering moving to a different company.

I received an offer from Hub Group for a Home Depot flatbed account (california) :
$23/hour

$0.54 per mile

Monday–Friday schedule

No touch freight

Before making a decision, I’d like to ask experienced drivers:
What is the realistic weekly take-home pay?

Do they consistently pay overtime after 40 hours?

What is the average daily mileage?

How is dispatch and route structure?

Would you consider this a solid upgrade?

I’m trying to make a long-term decision and would appreciate honest, real-world feedback from drivers who have worked this account or similar ones.

Thank you.

Hub Group Home Depot Perris - Is the $23/hour + $0.54 CPM pay legit?

I’m considering a local CDL-A flatbed job with Hub Group on the Home Depot account in Perris, CA.
The offer says:
$23/hour + $0.54 CPM
Home daily
Monday–Friday
Average weekly gross: $1,695
3 PM to around 3 AM

Is this pay realistic? Does anyone currently drive or recently drove on the Home Depot Perris account?

I’m looking for recent experiences. How does the hourly + CPM pay work in practice, and is the advertised pay realistic?

Got a $23/hr offer from Hub Group (Home Depot Dedicated Flatbed in Perris, CA). Is this low or activity-based pay?

Hey everyone,
I just got an offer from Hub Group for a Class A CDL position running out of the Home Depot distribution center in Perris, CA (Inland Empire).
They offered me $23 an hour. Locally, I see a lot of posts saying Hub Group dedicated drivers make closer to $80k-$90k+ a year, so $23/hr flat seems really low for Class A flatbed work in Southern California.
For anyone who has worked for Hub Group or runs dedicated retail flatbed accounts:
Is this $23/hr just the base rate for detention/breakdown/hourly tracking, or do they actually pay a flat $23/hr for all driving time too?
If it's component pay, what does the rest of the package (CPM, stop pay, tarping/strapping fees) usually look like to bring that average up?
Is this just a low transition/training rate for the first few weeks?
I want to make sure I ask the recruiter the right questions before walking away. Appreciate any insight from drivers in the area!

Best companies hiring CDL Class A drivers with 1 year experience in the Riverside area?

I have 1 year of Class A CDL experience driving semi trucks and I’m currently located in the Riverside, Southern California area.

I’m looking for a new driving job and would appreciate any recommendations for companies that hire drivers with around 1 year of experience. I’m interested in local, dedicated, or regional positions.

Also, has anyone worked for Ecology? My experience there hasn’t been great and I’m ready to move on.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
