Israel isn’t in the World Cup. Why is everyone focused on it?
thecjn.caOnly halfway through S5 so no spoilers please, but—is there a consensus that this season is way different (sitcom-y) than the rest of the show?
I tend to avoid subreddits until after I finish/catch up on shows, so apologies if this is repetitive. But lots sticks out about S5.
I don't recall the show being so reliant on a "plot of the week". The EGOT story, the brief romantic subplots, the Amazing Race (the last episode I watched)—the show previously felt like one long story drawn out over the season, but this one is a classic sitcom, with a new self-enclosed plot every episode.
Deb also feels like a totally different character. She's goofy and kind and bashful. It feels weird.
The pace also feels much faster - jokes and plots come rapid-fire.
To be clear, I am laughing a lot every episode, so I am not disappointed. But it feels undeniably different and I'm wondering if others have noticed or the creators have spoken about this.
An incomplete list of every other fanbase rooting for the Knicks tonight
Raps fan here. You guys managed to assemble a team of genuinely likeable, fan-favourite, high-quality players from all across the league. I believe this is (partly) why a lot of fans are rooting for the Knicks now.
(Shout-out to Josh Hart, also generally well-liked around the teams he's played for, but he was never a core member of any team before this, I don't think.)
Chet Holmgren was named to All-NBA and All-Defensive teams this week—and, it turns out, he's halachically Jewish.

sportsnet.caThe East play-in teams that lost both got the very last picks in the lottery. I'd take that Cavs series any day.
Just an observation for anyone who wished we tanked instead of competing. We never would have ended up worse than Washington, Brooklyn, Indy, Chicago and Milwaukee.
Our floor was the play-in, alongside Miami and Charlotte, who lost the play-in and got the 13th and 14th picks, respectively.
That seven-game series against the Cavs was absolutely worth it.
