New 386 Night Guard

Finally got my hands on the smith and Wesson 386 night guard. 7 shot 357 magnum.
The out of the box feel was unreal, a super smooth action, perfect timing, and dead on sights out of the box, with the recent quality control issues that smith has been having i was very happy as this gun was absolutely perfect out of the box. I have ran out 300 rounds of 38 and 150 so of 357 and zero issues. Smooth silky and soft shooting being a scandium framed 7 shooter.

New rod and reel?

I have a recent trip to Montana coming up this fall.
Fishing upstate New Hampshire and surrounding state rivers. My Helios is a power house of a 5wt but has a hard time with bigger 2 fly rigs with SplitShot and wind

I currently have a
7’9 3wt
8’6 4 wt
9’ 5 wt

You think a 6 wt would be the next move?

Catskills Brown

Amazing time in trout town. Caught this guy on a small thin mint bugger over a brown zebra midge. Fought like hell.

New 629 Mountain Gun

First impressions-
Jumped on the band wagon hoping to get a good one in my hands. I was hesitant as I have seen so many reviews on the quality control issues that smith has been having with this model. Out of the box I found zero burrs, zero finishing issues, barrel was straight as an arrow, timed perfectly etc. some slight issues- the rear sight has a small very light metallic scratch under the notch that is not really noticeable in shooting light, and the under side of the grip has a few dings from the manufacturer (will be calling smith for a replacement) but that didn’t matter as much as how will it perform on the range. I shot a few different loads of 44 special and 44 mag, and this gun is by far one of the most accurate smoothest shooting magnum revolvers I have ever shot. I am impressed with the handling and shoot ability with lighter loads, but the 44 magnums are a bit snappy. All and all I am very pleased with the gun, it shoots great 10/10 the fit and finish is around an 8/10 with the minor factory blemishes. I am very pleased with my purchase.
