My mom still believes

My mom paid money for a job interview to work for Elon Musk. They charged her account 3 times. She woke up to reason and called her bank to dispute the charges. She has since gotten the job. And yay, they will send her money back with pay pal. They just needed to know she was serious. For the job she needs to answer 10 questions a day to train ai and she will have $5000 in a week.

I called the bank to see if they could tell her it was fraud. They were no help. They said she disputed the charges and it will take 3 months to investigate.

I have now called the police to help her see reason. We are waiting for them to come by. But if they can’t help, what can I say to convince her? She really thinks she is employed.

Edit: she now believes it’s a scam and is begging me not to put her in a home.

Random Loot

Yesterday I was in my front yard. I'm on a busy street and I have a large speed bump in front of my neighbors yard. Well a truck speeds over the speed bump and I hear something fall out. I don't think much of it until I hear breaks squealing. Another car came along and picked up what I can now see is pet food. They seemed pretty happy with the find. I was just glad it wasn’t trash.

Unfamialr with this type of cover

I have a LFL. I thought this was a cute book to read so I grabbed it. It's in a little rough condition and was wondering if I could do anything to protect it for the short time I have it. I'm new to repairs and thought this was a good opportunity to try. I think this book deserves it.

Fell for the fake hornets nest

Glad I found this group. I got some great ideas on how to stop wasps in the future. Unfortunately the hole to the fake hornets nest is too small to really spray poison in it. Maybe I can try to knock it down and run really fast. Those red wasps are really big 😭

Came here for advice

I’ve successfully ran my free library for the past 6 months. I have a consistent amount of takers and givers. This is my first vandal. They threw 43 books on the ground during a rainy night. The books are destroyed. We are expected to get quite a bit of rain the next few days. Should I leave my library empty until the weather improves? I don’t wanna let one bad actor ruin such a positive library.

Edit: sorry I’m new to posting on Reddit so I hope I’m updating correctly. I did add books but I didn’t fill it up. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to. I will move forward with believing in the best of people. Someone even came by and dropped off three books. One of them was the complete collection of The Chronicles of Narnia. Book people are the best.
