(OC) Emerald Princess - Ghost lifeboat spotted off coast of Alaska
Around 2000 this evening the Captain came on and announced we would be changing direction to investigate "an orange object" off the port side of the Emerald Princess.
We spent around an hour circling what we could soon see was a lifeboat. Eventually captain came back on to say we had been released by the coastguard and that it was abandoned. He did mention the name of the ship it was from, I believe Morning Midas which sank last year but don't quote me.
Overall an interesting experience on my first cruise. Approx location was 56.03124° N, 134.79284° W.
