Getting close to giving up on this bike. Finally fixed the leak in the carb and now the throttle is sticking. Thought the cables were just too tight at first till I pulled the rack out AGAIN and noticed the two inner butterflies not closing all the way. Also the spring I’m pushing down on isn’t smooth it feels like it’s grinding. Any advice would be great
How big of a difference is one letter? Can they be installed on the same bike?
If anybody in here has or knows someone parting out an 82 nighthawk i will gladly buy the carb off of them. Thanks
Think I completely screwed myself, was trying to reattach that wire on the left to sync the butterflies when reassembling the carbs and there wasn’t enough tension in the wire which sent me down this rabbit hole and now i dont know how to put it back together. Any advice would be huge thanks
Almost positive this is causing the carbs to leak gas but now I don’t know what this is called or even how to shop for it can someone tell me where I could get this piece
Have had my 82 Honda for about a year now my first motorcycle. Never had carb problems before but I’m eager to learn about engine so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Have been riding it for the past 2 months no problems and yesterday I started it up and noticed gas leaking from the carbs. Pulled the carb out to check the float bowls but was only able to get two of them off as the screws on the other two are stripped. The two I got off weren’t very dirty just some easy to clean gunk but nothing looked crazy. I didn’t mess with the jets or anything because I wasn’t sure if that would help and I don’t have a service manual. I sprayed carb cleaner as best I could through all 4 carbs and ran some seafoam through the tank and it’s still leaking like in the video. Need help.
