I’m a mechanical engineering student, and I think I found a way to make a simplified hour/quarter hour repeater that doesn’t need the weeks of tuning that standard ones do. It will be quieter, but making one that works affordably is already awesome. I need a movement that has literally ANY constantly moving gear exposed, and ideally the gear should be able to withstand a little bit of torque (not very much at all)

It can be flush with the front or back of the movement, as the part “storing” the number of strikes for the repeater will double as a jump hour function

At parents house, found old pusser’s rum, thought it was funny to taste one. Mouth tingles a bit. Safe to give to friends as a joke or nah? They were shooters, and the level of the (still sealed) bottle is significantly lower than it should be.
