What are you guys putting on in a hit on average?

So I do general building, I’m self employed but sub contracted to the same guy for a while now and working on a day rate. I do plastering but only what I’m comfortable enough to do and know I can get a good finish. Generally speaking he’s pretty sound but lately he’s been quite pushy on the plastering side of things. He’s paying me 175 a day CIS so I’m taking home 150. I’ve told him I’m comfortable doing about 2.5 bag hits, so about 5 bags in a day, I usually aim to do like an average size bedroom ceiling in a morning for my first hit, then 2 walls in the afternoon. Bare in mind this is with no labourer and I’m a multi trader so he’s paying for my experience in a range of different things, he’s been on my case lately that I should be doing bigger hits, but I just find any more than that and I’m busting a gut and panicking about the finish.

What do you think I should be charging for my skills?

Hi all, to give some context I’d consider myself somewhat of a skilled labourer or handy man. I’ve been doing general building for about 20 years now and I’m self employed but have sub contracted for the same guy under CIS now for 2 years. I’m currently paid 150 a day before tax so I take home 120. I’m reliable, always on time and am told I’m particularly good dealing with customers. I have my own van and tools. I can plaster, tile, dry line, lay slabs and flooring, decorate etc pretty much most things other than electrics and plumbing and intricate chippy work. Obviously probably don’t do all of those things at the same speed or standard as those who are specialised, but my work must be to a reasonable standard as my contractor is well known for being quite fussy. Everyone I speak to is earning more than me. Do you think it would be fair to ask for 175 a day before tax or is that too big a jump? Thanks in advance.

[36M] and my partner [36F] has becoming increasingly difficult to live with.

My partner of 7 years has recently just become impossible to live with. The hard part is we have a 6 month old baby boy who means the absolute world to me. She seems to be up and down, and attacks me verbally without warning and without reason. A couple weeks ago she sent me a long winded text about how she’s miserable and that sex with me has become a chore, among other things. A couple of days later she’s cuddling into me like her way of apologising and making moves on me. Now this weekend she’s on another downer, snapped at me as soon as I was home
From work for getting a few bobbles off my socks on the freshly hoovered floor. We had an argument today and she said she’s bored and I never want to do anything, just because I didn’t want to go out for a walk today, I’m a plasterer so my job is quite physically demanding, so some
Weekends I just want to relax a bit. I’m not lazy I help out with everything with our son, including all the cooking, and we do go out and do stuff most weekend, wether it’s taking the dog and our son out for a walk, or going for a meal etc. I just feel I’m treading on egg shells all the time lately, and her attitude is making me miserable too. However I don’t want to end up potentially only seeing my boy weekends, it would break my heart.

TLDR : preferably some advice from a females perspective
