LO Win Pardoe USPSA
Had a really good time today. Had quite a few areas I could’ve done better but overall felt consistent and was less than 10 seconds off pace. Unfortunately dropped 2 Deltas but was otherwise M and penalty free. Trying to put it all together before Area 5 next month.
Live Fire (based on the dry fire from the other day)
Far back positions are 15yd’s to swinging mini steel. Really trying to work on exploding out of a position and staying in an athletic stance when entering so my exit can be aggressive without having to change position.
Dry Fire (Simulating Aggressive Exit’s)
Really trying to cut down on time waste when it comes to exiting a position. At buckeye I ended up being 40 seconds off pace over 14 stages. A few were 3-4 seconds however a vast majority were around 2 seconds. Watching the footage and getting feedback from top level guys, my foot speed is really really lacking. So dedicating quite a bit of time to increasing that foot speed.
*DISCLAIMER*
THIS IS SIMULATING LONGER DISTANCE, DO NOT BREAK YOUR GRIP FOR THIS SHORT OF A MOVEMENT
Mag Failed Chrono
My Atlas 140 premium mag failed Chrono this weekend at Buckeye moving me to open minor. Their reasoning was the feed lip was “stretched out” causing it to not seat. I asked to have it taken apart and put back together and retry, my request was denied. These mags were only 6 months old and were not “tuned” or changed in anyway. Stock followers and springs. I took a video tonight after getting my mag gauge in and what do ya know…. Tough break for me but it is what it is.
Small Movement Dry Fire
Really trying to speed up the exit’s in small movements. Lost a ton of time at Buckeye not leaving as aggressive as I could have.
3 Best Stages from Pardoe USPSA
Pushing myself leading up to Buckeye. Trying to find a balance between aggression and accuracy. Ended up being the 5th fastest time today however dropped 4 D’s 4 M’s (2 coming from an FTSA on a stage I shot a target twice). 4 seconds off pistol (open) raw time.
Some Dry Fire Work
Switched my WH location on my grip after my class last weekend. Have been practicing grip, vision/transitions, and tracking small spots through walls. Definitely feeling a lot more precise and quicker.
Slidelock Thumbrest
Looking for opinions on these specific thumb rests for 2011’s.
Atlas Gun Works
Nitrofin 2.0 XWF/Cheely Wide Frame
Tevo Sports Thumbrest
Fusion Firearms
Was able to run a gun with one this weekend and I definitely want whatever thunbrest is going to help keep my support hand further back on the grip.
Recently hit A class and I know the next step in my shooting profession is going to be closing the gap on pace. So here’s 3 stages from yesterday where I was able to put that into action.
