Meteor Night Wildlife Pics

Star pics on phones generally look like junk so I didn’t take any. Instead, here are some critters I found. Not completely positive on identification of all these but it think these are correct

Pics are of:
- Middle Eastern Short-Fingered Gecko
- Shield-Tailed Scorpions
- Desert Huntsman Spider

Location was not at Al Quaa. It was a random dirt road off of another dirt road between Al Ain and Al Quaa

Hitchhiking in Oman

Salam everyone. I’m gonna be in Oman for a few days starting Thursday or Wednesday evening. I have been there several times and know I can hitchhike across the border cause I’ve taken people when I have a rental. But this time the rental companies won’t guarantee being able to cross due to issues with the systems during holidays… I won’t go into it.

So I am considering hitch hiking from khatm al shiklah crossing all the way to Muscat. How simple is it to hitchhike? I have picked people up before but I have no idea how much time I should expect it to take to get rides.

I have other options on what I can do but there are reasons I’m considering hitchhiking over them

To be clear. I won’t have any issues crossing. I have American passport and even pre approved visa. I live in Al Ain so getting to the border is simple for me vs the various other options. And I don’t wanna do the bus cause that could take forever on a holiday and might not even have spots open at this point

Mama and papa Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse

Mom and dad out with the children. They were all together, just separated too much to get a good pic all together

Shoe stores with people who actually know about running shoes

Can anyone suggest a store for running shoes where I can ask the people who work there actually know stuff about their shoes and feet. I’m looking for major brand running shoes… not places that sell insoles and stuff. I have insoles I use already.

Basically my current running shoes I have gotten for 15+ years got redesigned and I need to find a new one. I have specific issues with certain shoes and people who know a lot about running, shoes, and feet would know other ones I can switch to. But last time I needed this help I was in my own country.

Salesmen here are mostly pretty useless when it comes to knowledge about their product or why someone might need a specific product. I’m confident there are higher end running shoe places where they know their stuff. In my country there were a couple stores in my city where the owners and workers were really knowledgable and speciallized in running and marathons. If you know a place like this let me know
